Where Evangelization Begins

Monsignor Jonas, founder of the Canção Nova (New Song) Community, teaches us that we live together in community, “To be evangelized and, being evangelized, to evangelize. ”

Love and adoration are realities that walk side by side, one should bring us to the other. And of the quality of the two results the efficacy of our missionary expression. In the Christian life it is this way. “The one that says he loves God, should also love his brother. (cf 1 John 4:21)

Love is demonstrated in the simplicity of a life well lived. In the donation and receptivity of a daily filled with small gestures that express that which the words do not say well. Gestures of care, counsel and prayer.

“I bought for you a tissue…”

“Use this ginger in your tea to make you throat feel better…”

“This photo is of a special moment, I will show it to you…”

“I just came by to say good night…”

How much do these phrases signify? How much understanding of a pear left on a bed of a brother, with a handwritten note that motivates a search for God!

Christianity is a gift that needs to be chosen and celebrated. It is a task of conjugating with life the verb to love-a simple and determined path-a commitment of each baptized, mission that begins inside the house and cannot stop there.

Following the footsteps of Jesus, that God helps us to love in the proportion of His love that compels us.
