What Do You Want Me to Do for You?

What is your situation today? Can it be that we do not know ourselves personally and therefore we do not know the realities one from the other and even less the challenges confronted every day.
We observe the Gospel of St. mark 10:46-52. Jesus is leaving from Jericho with his disciples and a considerable multitude. The blindman Bartimeus, son of Timeus was seated on the edge of the road begging. We see that Bartimeus found himself in some particular realities. Which is your situation today, in what situation do you find yourself? Do you find yourself on the edge of the road, do you find your begging, or do you find yourself on the edge of the road and begging? Bartimeus was like this, at the edge of the road and begging. Do you find yourself at the edge of the road and begging, only at the edge of the road or only begging? The word continues: upon knowing that it was Jesus of Nazareth he  began to cry out, Son of David, Jesus, have compassion on me! Many reprimanded him so that he would be quiet, but he yelled out still more. Jesus stopped and said: call-him.

I open a parenthesis here to reflect a little on my responsibility as baptized and missionary. I encounter here a direction to realize my mission! Jesus stopped and sent for him, and I believe it to be providential this calling him, for it could be written the name of whom the Lord sent calling him, on the contrary, there is a space for You and I to put our name. This is the word for all the baptized, we have the mission of calling all to this encounter. We remember another word that Jesus said: God, therefore, teach all the nations; baptized them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19. For us that we assume the lordhsip of Jesus and  we tread the road of the disciple, we cannot remain at the margins before so many who need this encounter with Jesus.

How many suffer in silence and better still have a muffled voice in society without seeking to ask help and even fewer cry out in the middle of their own difficulties. We have as mission to lead them to the necessary solution: Christ Jesus! That the Lord put in my and in your heart this new fire in order that we may not turn from the mission that Jesus entrusted to us.

“Courage! Get up, He calls you” Throwing off his cape, the blind man rose, and came forward and went to Him. (cf Mk 10:49ff) The desire is to want from our heart that people that find themselves with Jesus need to be encouraged to rise and better still to throw off the cape, leave the old life and put themselves on the road to encounter Jesus as never before. Each day we need to stand, step forward, throw off the mantle and go to the encounter with Jesus. Otherwise we will get nowhere! What’s more is that Jesus sends persons to call us, for if we do not have the attitude of standing on our feet, to leave the old life and to go to the encounter of the Lord nothing is going to change.

There is an old phrase that I saw on a Canção Nova shirt which I took as a direction to me: The wanting is mine, the power is of God. I began to meditate on this phrase and I perceived that if I do not want,  God cannot do, at the same time what I can want, all the more is God’s power! I can live like many that assume this mission to promote this encounter with Jesus, but if you do not want it, nothing will happen.

Verse 51 continues: Jesus taking the word asked him: What do you want me to do for you?” Remember, “The wanting is yours, the power is of God” you can want to leave behind this old life, wanting this new life, wanting to be holy in order that Jesus may manifest what is wanted from Him in your life. Experience this new life, this holiness that He finds for you and me.

Claim now the Blood of Christ over your life in order that all liberation necessary happens and you continue each day seeking the will of God.

That the Holy Spirit takes from your heart all doubt and aligns your desires to those of God.

God bless you greatly in your decision!
