The Road to Heaven

Franz Joachim Beich (circle) Christ on the Road to EmmausThere is a preoccupation  with the conversion of persons. Especially with persons in our house. Many times we are boring others with this. We have this desire for persons and we speak to them of the steps they need to achieve conversion. If this happens to you know that you are normal.

What I want to stress now has to do with what the great French poet Antoine Saint-Exupéry said: “If you want to build a boat, do not gather people to provide work, to prepare tools, to give task, to divide the work, but teach them to desire the great ocean without end.” Here is the secret of going to Heaven: SHOW HEAVEN TO THE PERSON.

In order to convince someone, even ourselves of going to Heaven, we need to have a real notion of what is Heaven. Of how it is there. Of whom will be there waiting for us. Of how we will live there. We need to teach, to learn of this “desire for the great ocean without end.” One then can we seek to arrive to this ocean. When the desire for the sea is burning in us, easily we can seek to build the boat arrive there. The difficulty is not building the boat. The difficulty is desiring the sea intensely…

We may intensely desire Heaven, in order that we may arrive there.
