In a world so profane in which sin reigns, I have the need to be a man of prayer. The word of God already alerts us: Watch and pray that you may not fall into temptation.

No it is not possible to live a holy and chaste life without the help of the grace of the Holy Spirit. Human strength alone is not enough, it is necessary for supernatural strength to tread the road in the will of God and not fall into the seduction of the enemy.

No one is free from temptations and suggestions of the demon. He is going to enter into the openings of our life, and going to infiltrate into our weaknesses. He is pushing us into venial after venial sin until it becomes mortal, we fall into a spiritual blindness that transforms itself into a slavery difficult to overcome, the consequence is spiritual sin with the imminent risk of losing eternal salvation.

This is very serious. I know my weaknesses and limits, I know that the demon is waiting in ambush for an opportunity to devour me. Therefore, I should be strengthened in the grace of God through prayer, for alone I cannot overcome my weaknesses.

In our days of being men and women of God, a fertile and deep prayer life is an indispensible necessity. Watch and pray that you do not fall into temptation.

O-Espírito-e-a-Igreja

“Our own time, with humanity on the move and in continual search, demands a resurgence of the Church’s missionary activity. The horizons and possibilities for mission are growing ever wider, and we Christians are called to an apostolic courage based upon trust in the Spirit. He is the principal agent of mission!” (John Paul II, Redemptoris Missio, 30)

In this process of the New Evangelization, we cannot lose the notion that the Holy Spirit is  the true protagonist in announcing Jesus Christ. The Spirit that guides the Church alerts us through the popes. “It is necessary to prepare capable and holy evangelizers. The fervor of the apostles must not be allowed to weaken, especially in regard to the mission ‘ad gentes.’ ” (PopeJohn Paul, Message for the World Day of Missions 2003)

The fervor of the Apostles needs to be renewed for our mission, fervor that does not test our virtues and human capacities. This boldness is always provided by the Holy Spirit. We see the person of Paul who was an efficient instrument for evangelization, as God empowered his virtues and human capacities through the grace of the Holy Spirit. All this shows that the one who guides us in our daily mission is the Holy Spirit.

But it is necessary to leave comfort and to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit, for we are the missionaries of the Contemporary Church. Let us be intimate with Him in the mission of the Church. “Today the Church must face other challenges and push forward to new frontiers, both in the initial mission ad gentes and in the new evangelization of those peoples who have already heard Christ proclaimed. Today all Christians, the particular churches and the universal Church, are called to have the same courage that inspired the missionaries of the past, and the same readiness to listen to the voice of the Spirit.“( Pope John Paul II, Redemptoris Missio, 30)

We need to claim the Effusion of the Holy Spirit to announce the Gospel with the same courage that moved and moves missionaries to the ends of the world. So be it!

Strong Hug,

prophetsStudying prophetic literature in the Bible, I observed some prophetic characteristicis in the Old and New Testaments that we should apply to our evangelizing mission of being actual prophets of the Church that Jesus founded.

  • Speak the truths of God
  • Denounce with words and with your own life.
  • Do not speak to please others.
  • Don’t sell yourself and do not sell the Word of God.

According to these prophetic characteristics, I see that we cannot remain with alienating and degrading movements that rule society. The more faithful to the truth, the more God speaks through the prophet.

We cannot remain silent for the alienating impositions of culture that manipulate the conscience of people like the abortion “lobby”. A “lobby” against the truth essence of the family and marriage, freedom in marijuana, euthanasia… These movements after much hammering on the head of the people, approve profane laws for the justification of promiscuous tendencies in society. Then can wait as already other projects are cocked that will come to the surface soon. If the people do not speak, the rocks will fall. We cannot be intimidated, we need to denounce the truth is the truth!… The Church needs prophets of truth! We cannot be stuck with anyone! Our commitment is with God. If it is to be prophet, we are going to be prophets of truth!

ademir_costa_rezandoA lax conscience is a result of a life tainted by relativism and dragged down by secularism . People who have not known Jesus, are in ignorance. But we are not ignorant. We know Jesus Christ and had a “personal encounter” with Him. So a practicing Catholic is conscious of the laxity s/he lives.

This is a great danger to our lives because we are endangering our salvation. Many allowed their faith to be undermined by secularism and relativism and now they live a lukewarm faith.

We can also experience a pharisaical laxity; fooling people by donning “masks”; we live vs what we are, pretending to be a saint (a), but in fact we are being hypocritical. We forget that nothing escapes the eyes of God. A lukewarm faith of appearances leads one to hell.

We know that God is merciful. But mercy only works in our lives, when we allow ourselves act. The slack person will say, “the day of judgment, Lord! I Preached, healed, freed, sang … “And the Lord will answer him: I don’t know you, infidel!

I claim the Holy Spirit to cleanse me of all defilement of relativism and grant me the strength to not be dragged by secularism into the world by living with a lax conscience that leads to hell.

Lord have mercy and give me your Grace!

seminarista

We are Roman Catholic seminarians. Happy to correspond to the call of God.

Really I say this from the heart: I am happy to correspond to the call of God for my life!!

I want to be a priest not for money, fame or success. If it was for this, I would have to seek other roads. But to be priest for be all of God, it is a total and integral giving to God in His Church.

This is gift and work. I want to say above all it is a gift of God, it is a grace that nothing and no one in the world can give; it is God that sustains my call. But it is work because it depends on me in the freedom of the disposition and in the daily repost that I give give my vocation to God.

My brothers, I am profoundly happy to be seminarian and to follow this road to priesthood.

I challenge you my brother that you may hear the voice of God in your heart, to give a response even before fears and insecurities, do not be perturbed, God does not call the perfect! Don’t be reluctant in responding to God. It is certain that He is not going to hurt your freedom, but I advise you that happier is the one who corresponds to the call of the Lord.

Once more I repeat: “I am a Roman Catholic seminarian. Happy to correspond to the call of God!”

Strong hug,
