Signing of the decree occurred on Sunday, 29, at the Vatican, the day when the Church celebrated the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\"New<\/a> “We are at a very important moment: we were finally approved by the Holy See and that’s cause for celebration,” says the founder of the\u00a0Can\u00e7\u00e3o Nova<\/span> Community, Monsignor Jonas Abib.<\/span><\/p>\n

The day of the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, celebrated on Sunday, 29, became a historical date for the New Song.<\/span> The decree of the Holy See granting the Definitive Pontifical Recognition<\/a>\u00a0 the New Song was signed by the Pontifical Council for the Laity, the Vatican body responsible for the movements and new communities.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2008, the community was recognized by the Holy See with a decree common procedure in this type of process.<\/span> The document was signed on October 12, 2008<\/a> , and delivered to Monsignor Jonas Abib at the Vatican on November 3<\/a> of that year.<\/span> Since then,\u00a0Can\u00e7\u00e3o Nova<\/span> has been waiting for final approval.<\/span><\/p>\n

Monsignor Jonas says he received the news of the definitive recognition with joy and gratitude.<\/span> “Gratitude to God and the many people who worked to make this happen.<\/span> It is now a fact, and we can only say: ‘Thank God.’ “<\/span><\/p>\n

In this year Monsignor Jonas celebrates 50 years of priesthood, receiving recognition of this work he founded is a gift.<\/span> “To me it is a crowning achievement.<\/span> I have dedicated my life to the fosting New Song.<\/span> It<\/span> is approved now by the Holy See, it is a wonderful gift “says.<\/span><\/p>\n

The co-founder of Can\u00e7\u00e3o Nova Community, Luzia Santiago, remembered that last week, Monsignor Jonas received a document that said the proximity of the recognition.<\/span> Since then, the joy came over his heart.<\/span> “It is confirmation that we are on the way (…) A New Song, all these years, preached with such missionary zeal of a personal encounter with Christ in his simple way to do, in the power and grace of the Holy Spirit.<\/span> This gives enthusiasm and need to rejoice. “<\/span><\/p>\n

According to co-founder and executive director of the community of the John Paul II Foundation, Wellington Silva Jardim, the Pontifical Recognition Definitive is a great satisfaction, and from that decision the responsibility of the New Song increases.<\/span> “What is beautiful, this day, to me is confirmation that we are Church.<\/span> On October 12, 2008, we were recognized by the Church;<\/span> Now came the confirmation. “<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the trainer-General of New Song, Father Wagner Ferreira, effective change is the recognition that final approval of the new status<\/a> of the Community.<\/span> “It is natural, in any work of the Church, there is, over time, the need to update the statutes, internal regulations of the community for the sake of the evolution or changes that happen in the life of the Church.<\/span> It was just that we live in recent years, and, by God’s grace, the Pontifical Council granted in this approval. “<\/span><\/p>\n

Monsignor Jonas explains that the final adoption of the statute is important because it is the Church saying, “You are what God wants, the charisma of you is real, it’s true.<\/span> (…) Is the approval of our charism.<\/span> So praise God for that!<\/span> Live now, charisma, because he is wanted by the church. “<\/span><\/p>\n

“It’s the anticipation, the joy and the commitment to take forever until the mission when Jesus returns,” adds Lucy.<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Can\u00e7\u00e3o Nova<\/span> Community was founded in 1978<\/a> by Monsignor Jonas Abib<\/a> and aims to train young people for a new world.<\/span> It has the mission to evangelize of Jesus and communicating the new life He came to bring, through retreats and the preferred way, but not exclusively, by the media.<\/span><\/p>\n
