{"id":16641,"date":"2015-09-10T01:01:04","date_gmt":"2015-09-10T06:01:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.cancaonova.com\/catholicismanew\/?p=16641"},"modified":"2015-08-26T19:20:38","modified_gmt":"2015-08-27T00:20:38","slug":"16641","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.cancaonova.com\/catholicismanew\/2015\/09\/10\/16641\/","title":{"rendered":"A Father's Prayer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span lang=\"en\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/img.cancaonova.com\/cnimages\/canais\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2015\/08\/formacao_oracao-de-um-pai1-600x450.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/>Here I am, Lord. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">Again, as on the first day, here I am amazed in front of my hands full of enormous power that you gave me.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">You put me between heaven and Earth to ensure Your work. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">You made me a little like you: Creator. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">You gave me a wider realm to all the kingdoms and a power that shakes the world, because You, Sir, you&#8217;re a dad, too.<\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\">That&#8217;s why I come today with hands full of a wealth that one can&#8217;t measure, still dizzy and overwhelmed, with the power that you gave me.<\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">I Come, Father, to ask for your advice, so that I can live\u00a0out, as you desire, my place in this immense love plan that is life. Counsel<\/span><span lang=\"en\">\u00a0me to follow the true path, and, knowing it, I can recommend it without error.<\/span><br \/>\n<span lang=\"en\">Counsel me so that I will never forget that, being a man and being a dad, I&#8217;m your son, too.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">Here I am, Lord, between heaven and Earth as you put. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">Give me hands strong enough to contain and guide, and soft enough to\u00a0caress\u00a0and applaud.<\/span><br \/>\n<span lang=\"en\">Give me wisdom to teach and modesty to learn. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">Give me tenacity to build the present and the audacity to build the future; <\/span><span lang=\"en\">a heart that is not so gentle it dissolves or so broad that it gets lost, nor so narrow that it becomes deformed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">Give me the knowledge to know\u00a0all power and all my error, all my ability and all that I lack, all my rights and all my duties. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">Give me the strength to, knowing all this, be a man among men, a father to my children, and a son for you.
