Pope Francis participated, live from the Vatican, on Monday (31\/8), in a TV show in the United States. <\/span>Via satellite, Francisco talked to audiences that were connected in three different cities: Los Angeles, Chicago, and McAllen, Texas-cities the Pope will not visit.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Pope’s presence in one of the most-watched U.S networks [ABC] allowed the message the Pontiff may arrive at the country that will see him, from September 22, in Washington, New York and Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

The Pope welcomed the entire Catholic community and the population of the United States and was able to talk to a single mother, a young man from the periphery, a nun and a girl victim of bullying.<\/p>\n

Valerie Herrera, 17-year-old student from Chicago, cried while she telling the Pope she had been bullied because of a skin disease and who found in music a refuge.<\/p>\n

The Pope then said, in English, that he’d like to hear her sing. <\/span>When she hesitated, Francis encouraged her: “be brave”. <\/span>Valerie then sang “for you, Mary” in Spanish.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Pope ended his participation in the tv show with these words: “I pray for all of\u00a0you and I ask that you pray for me”.<\/p>\n
