Recently, Fr.\u00a0Jo\u00e3o Marcos meditating on the construction of our walk with God. <\/span>The priest invites us to a reflection of the old man and the new man that dwells in us, stating that the one who wins is the one we feed.<\/span><\/p>\n

The meditated Word today is in Ephesians – 4:17-24 <\/strong>[DR]<\/p>\n

“<\/span>This then I say and testify in the Lord: That henceforward you walk not as also the Gentiles walk in the vanity of their mind, Having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their hearts.Who despairing, have given themselves up to lasciviousness, unto the working of all uncleanness, unto the working of all uncleanness, unto covetousness.But you have not so learned Christ;<\/em><\/p>\n

If so be that you have heard him, and have been taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus: To put off, according to former conversation, the old man, who is corrupted according to the desire of error. And be renewed in the spirit of your mind: And put on the new man, who according to God is created in justice and holiness of truth.<\/em>”<\/p>\n

Making a personal encounter with Christ doesn’t kill the old man who dwells in us, so we have to be vigilant all the time. <\/span>Once centered on\u00a0the blood of the Lamb, we continue our prayer life, lest we fall into temptation.<\/span><\/p>\n

It may be that, over time, that fervor of the beginning of the walk begins to\u00a0weaken in us. <\/span>Right now, it’s time to put ourselves\u00a0in prayer, so that the flame is reheated in our hearts.<\/span><\/p>\n

Configure our life in Christ. <\/span>When the young man grows in us, the old man decreases. <\/span>Why do so many people give up the walk with God? Because they<\/span>\u00a0can’t handle the old man and the new man inside. They fall and they do not have the courage to start again. <\/span>If we fall, we return our walk in God.<\/span><\/p>\n

Every day we are tempted by the enemy of God. <\/span>But what paths we’re building? Do we f<\/span>eed the old man or the new man? <\/span>The wishes and desires remain in us, but if you feed what’s old, you fall into sin.<\/span><\/p>\n

Have we built the new man in us? H<\/span>ave we lived as Christians? <\/span>Many are in the Church, but don’t hold their\u00a0tongue. <\/span>Speak ill of their brother and sister, gossip, mutter, grumble, and so allow the old man be fed within their heart.<\/span><\/p>\n

To rebuild the new man, put God first and have a disciplined life of prayer. <\/span>Take the path of Holiness from the moment we decide to be of God.<\/span><\/p>\n

Singing a new song every day is hard, but because we will be entirely of the Lord. <\/span>The daily experience with the Holy Spirit and the word of God is to build in us the new man.<\/span><\/p>\n

Saint Teresa Of Avila, doctor of the Church, with three sentences teaches us a lot about our walk with God. <\/span>We can write these words in our heart and tread our way of Holiness:<\/span><\/p>\n

“Set your eyes on the crucified and everything will become insignificant,” Let us put our eyes on Christ, so the old man in us will not\u00a0have the strength to beat us.<\/p>\n

“The devil is afraid of certain souls”, even without desire to pray, let us be in prayer. <\/span>Be disciplined, so the enemy does not\u00a0win.<\/span><\/p>\n

“In war, the soldier has no way to go back to the House, he wins the battle or he dies”, our battle against the evil is daily, we must fight every day to achieve victory.<\/p>\n

It’s time we start our walk in God. <\/span>Today is the day to resume the life of prayer.<\/span><\/p>\n
