{"id":17042,"date":"2016-02-02T01:01:48","date_gmt":"2016-02-02T06:01:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.cancaonova.com\/catholicismanew\/?p=17042"},"modified":"2015-12-12T06:34:44","modified_gmt":"2015-12-12T11:34:44","slug":"the-harm-of-unforgiveness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.cancaonova.com\/catholicismanew\/2016\/02\/02\/the-harm-of-unforgiveness\/","title":{"rendered":"The Harm of Unforgiveness"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"wrap-header\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"wrap\">\n<section id=\"content\" class=\"container\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div id=\"content-post\">\n<article id=\"post-2623\" class=\"post-2623 post type-post status-publish format-standard has-post-thumbnail hentry category-artigos\">\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<div class=\"socialmedia-top\">\n<hgroup class=\"content-header\">\n<h1 class=\" entry-title \"><\/h1>\n<\/hgroup>\n<div id=\"content-post\">\n<article id=\"post-2623\" class=\"post-2623 post type-post status-publish format-standard has-post-thumbnail hentry category-artigos\">\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<h2>The lack of forgiveness and resentment is like rust<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-27088 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/img.cancaonova.com\/cnimages\/especiais\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2015\/10\/os_maleficios_da_falta_de_perdao-600x450.jpg\" alt=\"os_maleficios_da_falta_de_perdao\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><br \/>\n<sup>Photo: Yamin\/cancaonova.com<\/sup><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">We have forgiveness as a burden, as something impossible to live. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">It is the enemy that gives rise to this thought in our mind. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">He makes us keeping rages, grudges, hard feelings &#8230; <\/span><span lang=\"en\">This is the tactic that he uses to finish with our family, our group and our community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">We are unable to imagine the damage that the lack of forgiveness does. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">Unfortunately, we end up keeping\u00a0the evil that people do to us, within us.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">The resentment the unforgiveness is like rust eating away at us and when we realize it, we are taken over by it.<\/span><span lang=\"en\">However, when we forgive, God even fills our heart with his love and we experience the peace that we seek.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>St. Paul teaches us in his letter: &#8220;<strong>D<\/strong><b>on&#8217;t let the Sun on your resentment<\/b>&#8221; (Eph 4.26).<\/h3>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">We&#8217;re all fragile. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">If we acknowledged and assume our limitations, it would be easier to forgive the other and understand his or her\u00a0weaknesses. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">So, don&#8217;t be afraid to talk to Jesus of\u00a0your\u00a0difficulty to forgive, of how hard it is for you to admit that your are able to make the same mistakes and failures of others.
