{"id":17258,"date":"2016-06-02T01:01:24","date_gmt":"2016-06-02T06:01:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.cancaonova.com\/catholicismanew\/?p=17258"},"modified":"2016-04-11T06:55:23","modified_gmt":"2016-04-11T11:55:23","slug":"17258","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.cancaonova.com\/catholicismanew\/2016\/06\/02\/17258\/","title":{"rendered":"What Is the Discernment of Spirits"},"content":{"rendered":"<nav class=\"breadcrumbs\">\u00a0<\/nav>\n<div class=\"entry-meta\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"content-post\">\n<article id=\"post-20466\" class=\"post-20466 post type-post status-publish format-standard has-post-thumbnail hentry category-espirito-santo tag-discernimento tag-espirito-santo\">\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p><strong>Discernment is a gift, protector of the community and of all the other gifts<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">Discernment is a skill or ability given by God to recognize the identity (and, often, the personality and the condition) of the spirits that are behind different events or activities. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">This gift is essential to the Church, is generally granted to shepherds of the flock of God and those who are in a position to hold and guide the Saints.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-78714\" src=\"http:\/\/img.cancaonova.com\/cnimages\/canais\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2010\/05\/formacao_o-que-e-o-discerniemto-dos-espiritos-600x450.jpg\" alt=\"O que \u00e9 o discerniemto dos esp\u00edritos\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\">As we can see in the definition above, this gift of God helps us to understand the origin of an intuition, a thought, a behavior, especially when it presents us strangely.<\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">As gift\u00a0[discernment of spirits], it does not proceed from simple human capacities or scientific deductions that we have acquired. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">discernment is intuition by which we know what is, truly, of the Holy Spirit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">The judgment can also be seen as a kind of vision or sensitivity; <\/span><span lang=\"en\">is a spiritual revelation of the operation of different types of spirits in a person or in a situation; it\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en\">is the means by which God makes Christians realize what&#8217;s going on.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">After all these definitions, we can ask ourselves: what benefit does this gift bring us to be use appropriately? <\/span><span lang=\"en\">How do we use it? <\/span><span lang=\"en\">How should it be used by people when living in complex situations?<\/span><span lang=\"en\">How they should proceed from the right orientation and hold that the judgement given them?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>The use of the gift of discernment<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">The charism allows us to act properly in a fact or situation at hand at the moment. It a<\/span><span lang=\"en\">llows us to identify the cause of this particular situation and may, therefore, take us to the root, the principle that moves, that originates, walking to a situation settled and happy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">The use of the gift helps us, therefore, to know the spirit, that is, the principle animator (anima = what animates, move, moves, etc.). <\/span><span lang=\"en\">With him, we can reach with ease, the source of inspiration and confirm from where it comes:<\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\">-If it comes from God (or God through his angels, his messengers);<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\">-If has its origin in the human mind (which can be unhealthy, unbalanced, or changed);<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\">-If comes from evil spirits (of the devil or evil spiritual influences).<\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">Discernment helps us to distinguish right from wrong, the true from the false, guiding our lives in faith and doctrine of Jesus Christ. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">The Lord has for us this great gift, this precious gift, which is the discernment of spirits. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">Although it is a gift, although we will be given free of charge, it is the result, too, of our walk. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">We need to walk and mature and what makes us mature is the perseverance, prayer, Word of God and the docility. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">And with maturity comes also the discernment of spirits.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">That God gives you this great gift you can pray now: Lord Jesus, I ask the discernment of spirits. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">I really need this gift not to be lost in confusion. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">I don&#8217;t want to hear anything bad, I don&#8217;t want\u00a0to be confused. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">I want to be guided, led, guided by the Lord. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">Give me the gift of discerning of spirits.<\/span><span lang=\"en\">Amen!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">I ask for you to grace, so that growth will come\u00a0your own way with perseverance. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">I ask that you be matured, grown and rooted in Jesus, that you have insight to be able to serve the Lord better and better;
