{"id":17787,"date":"2016-08-17T01:01:29","date_gmt":"2016-08-17T06:01:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.cancaonova.com\/catholicismanew\/?p=17787"},"modified":"2016-06-29T05:55:41","modified_gmt":"2016-06-29T10:55:41","slug":"dont-turn-away-from-confession-and-eucharist","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.cancaonova.com\/catholicismanew\/2016\/08\/17\/dont-turn-away-from-confession-and-eucharist\/","title":{"rendered":"Don't Turn Away from Confession and Eucharist"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\" entry-title \">Regardless of our sins and failures, we must not give up in\u00a0pursuit of the Eucharist and confession<\/h2>\n<div id=\"content-post\">\n<article id=\"post-39390\" class=\"post-39390 post type-post status-publish format-standard has-post-thumbnail hentry category-sorrindo-para-a-vida\">\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p><span lang=\"en\">Deacon Nelson Correa, on the\u00a0program &#8216; Sorrindo Pra Vida&#8217; [&#8216;Smiling at Life &#8216;], invites us to be the coming of the Lord. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">Even full of sins and unworthy, we should not back away from the presence of God.<\/span><br \/>\n<span lang=\"en\">The meditated Word is in <\/span><strong><span lang=\"en\">Apocalypse 7.13 -14:<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><em><span lang=\"en\">Then one of the Elders said to me, asking: &#8220;These, who are dressed in white robes, who are they and where did they come from?&#8221; <\/span><span lang=\"en\">I replied: &#8220;you know, my Lord.&#8221; <\/span><span lang=\"en\">He then said to me, &#8220;These are the ones that came through\u00a0\u00a0the great tribulation. They\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en\">Washed whitened\u00a0their robes in the blood of the lamb.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-39391\" src=\"http:\/\/img.cancaonova.com\/cnimages\/canais\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/06\/28062016_Sorrindo-pra-Vida.jpg\" alt=\"N\u00e3o se afaste da Eucaristia e Confiss\u00e3o\" width=\"600\" height=\"350\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>And who are these white robes?<\/h3>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">All we are baptized, we are children of God. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">He knows who we are and what we have lived.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">In Chapter 5.9 we read: &#8220;Sing a new song: &#8216; you are worthy to receive the book and to open the seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased to God people of every tribe, language, people and nation&#8221;. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">No matter what their religion, ethnicity or language, the Lord came to save everyone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">There are some religions that don&#8217;t eat meat, because, in the old testament, the blood is considered life; <\/span><span lang=\"en\">and shedding blood, was taking a life, an act of revenge that was done by another. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">A death was Avenged when it drew blood.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">We have been washed in the blood of the lamb. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">He died for us, to atone for our sins. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">By his blood we were justified, driven closer to\u00a0God and reconciled with Him.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Christ is the blood of the new and everlasting Covenant<\/h3>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">The blood of the new and everlasting Covenant calls for forgiveness with more force than that of the blood of Abel crying out for revenge. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">Cain killed Abel out of jealousy. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">The blood of Abel cried out for revenge, but the blood of Jesus cried out for forgiveness.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">Faith goes through tribulations, hardships, pain and loss. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">Whatever the sufferings that we&#8217;ve been through, we must deliver them to God. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">Don&#8217;t deny\u00a0Christ at the moment of pain or suffering, even if you don&#8217;t understand the sufferings that we experience. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">A faith, if not proved, is not faith.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>The mass is the prayer that most pleases God<\/h3>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">We know that, in the Mass, the Lord is there. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">Our white robes will be spotted along the way, and it is in the mass we are washed\u00a0in the blood of the lamb. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">The one who comes to Christ is purified and redeemed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">We never deviate from the Eucharist and confession, because our sins cannot be greater than the love of God for us. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">Jesus accepts us and waits for us.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">The song &#8216; sacrament of Communion &#8216; was born of that experience with God: &#8220;I do not receive\u00a0because I deserve it, I know, o my Lord. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">I receive \u00a0because I need you. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">When I missed mass, I ran away from you and me, but now I&#8217;m back, please take me. &#8220;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">How many of us think we are too\u00a0sinful and unworthy. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">Don&#8217;t let us stop drawing near to the Lord.\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en\">Even if we are \u00a0in Holy mass feeling beaten, defeated, needing love, that&#8217;s where we will be restored for him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span lang=\"en\">Deacon Nelsinho Correa<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Can\u00e7\u00e3o Nova\u00a0\u00a0Community mission<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Portuguese<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><em>Transcription and adaptation: Ariele Silva<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/clube.cancaonova.com\/sorrindo-para-a-vida\/nao-se-afaste-da-eucaristia-e-da-confissao\/\">Portuguese version<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Regardless of our sins and failures, we must not give up in\u00a0pursuit of the Eucharist and confession Deacon Nelson Correa, on the\u00a0program &#8216; Sorrindo Pra Vida&#8217; [&#8216;Smiling at Life &#8216;], invites us to be the coming of the Lord.
