<\/a>That do not feed on us the feeling of revenge, because he just destroys our soul and existence<\/strong><\/h2>\n

“<\/em> Lord<\/span>, do you want us\u00a0to call\u00a0down fire from heaven to destroy them? “<\/em> <\/span>(Luke 9.54).<\/span><\/p>\n

The questioning of the brothers James and John came about, because Jesus, was going up to Judea, to Jerusalem, and they passed through the territory of the Samaritans. <\/span>Since the Samaritans did not have good relations with the Jews, they saw that Jesus was going in that direction and turned their backs on him, they didn’t take in him or his disciples.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the heart of James and John came from the twisted feeling\u00a0of revenge: “Send down fire to destroy them”. <\/span>Jesus rebukes their attitude: “No! <\/span>It’s not because we’re not welcomed that we reciprocate in the same way. <\/span>It’s not because we are not loved, we reciprocate with hatred. <\/span>It’s not because the other hurt us, that we will also reciprocate with evil in the same way “.<\/span><\/p>\n

In Evangelical thought, in the heart of every one of us, conquered by the blood of Jesus, there can be no room for revenge, because it\u00a0just dulls our heart, we strip the best feelings of the soul, the body and the spirit!<\/p>\n

I know that there are situations where we feel angry, disgusted, we are provoked, and can be wanting to plan to do evil against those who did\u00a0us the wrong . <\/span>But there’s that mental revenge, in the heart, there is that feeling that we often have to look at the time\u00a0for\u00a0bad to happen against that person.<\/span><\/p>\n

Let me just tell you: just as Jesus rebuked the feeling of those two disciples, James and John, he wants to berate the feelings of our heart.<\/p>\n

Let us not allow to grow in us any feelings of bitterness, resentment, revenge against whoever. <\/span>God doesn’t want us avenging not even one who may have hindered us to evangelize, to do this or that, because there is something more diabolical than the ability of someone to avenge evil received.<\/span><\/p>\n

I know that many situations hurt the heart, there is within us a sense of Justice. <\/span>Justice is justice, but revenge is something else.<\/span><\/p>\n

Do not feed on us this terrible feeling, because it only destroys our soul and our existence.<\/p>\n
