Both have recovered greatly and this is a homily by Monsignor Jonas Abib at mass of thanksgiving for their recovery.-ed.)<\/p>\n<h1 class=\" entry-title \"><span class=\"notranslate\">This is the Lord &#8216;s work: Glory to God!<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/hgroup>\n<div class=\"entry-meta\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"content-post\">\n<article id=\"post-481824\" class=\"post-481824 post type-post status-publish format-standard has-post-thumbnail hentry category-homilias\">\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<h3><span class=\"notranslate\">&#8220;The Lord always keeps His promises!&#8221; (Psalm 144)<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span class=\"notranslate\">In this Wednesday, Oct. 26, Monsignor Jonas Abib celebrated Mass in thanksgiving for the life of Willian Guimar\u00e3es, at 7am, at the Shrine of the Father of Mercies.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_482084\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\">\n<p><a title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/img.cancaonova.com\/cnimages\/especiais\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/10\/30578648285_29853def80_o.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-482084 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/img.cancaonova.com\/cnimages\/especiais\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/10\/30578648285_29853def80_o-600x300.jpg\" alt=\"glory\" width=\"600\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span class=\"notranslate\">Felipe Pav\u00e3o, in the middle, Willian Guimar\u00e3es, right (photo: Wesley Almeida \/ cancaonova.com)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span class=\"notranslate\">Monsignor Jonas Abib began his homily: &#8220;Looking at Willian(sic), who was more serious, the Lord gave us a promise.<\/span> <span class=\"notranslate\">There is a psalm in the Bible &#8211; Psalm 117 &#8211; which tells us: &#8216;This is the Lord, a marvel in our eyes.<\/span> <span class=\"notranslate\">The right hand of the Lord has done wonders, the right hand of the Lord lifted me, the right hand of the Lord has done wonders.<\/span> <span class=\"notranslate\">I shall not die but live. &#8216;<\/span> <span class=\"notranslate\">William, that was the word about you: I will not die but live to recount the deeds of the Lord, to narrate the works of the Lord.<\/span> <span class=\"notranslate\">To recount the works of the Lord.<\/span> <span class=\"notranslate\">It&#8217;s no joke.<\/span> <span class=\"notranslate\">&#8216;The right hand of the Lord has done wonders.&#8217;<\/span> <span class=\"notranslate\">We did not see anything, just saw the risk, the danger, the possibility of death. &#8220;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"notranslate\">Missionary Heloisa Paiva, nurse, who closely followed the recovery of Willian, was describing the evolution of his\u00a0clinical picture: very serious condition, multiple trauma, intubated, sedated, inaudible blood pressure, many bruises, transfer to a better hospital, pneumonia, septicemia (generalized infection), fever, intestinal infection, pulmonary complications, tracheostomy, lung infection, renal complications and hemodialysis.<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"notranslate\">Emotional, she said: &#8220;These were days of great suffering, a lot of struggle but of great trust.<\/span> <span class=\"notranslate\">(&#8230;) We felt this\u00a0sustaining of the\u00a0Prayer of the community, of the people.<\/span> <span class=\"notranslate\">We were embraced by the city with care &#8230; God took care of us, of Willian.<\/span> <span class=\"notranslate\">God has done wonders! &#8220;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"notranslate\">Check out the homily (Portuguese):<\/span><\/p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"340\" height=\"191\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Wvq-lGDbgRo\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"notranslate\">Illness for the glory of God<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">Addressing the Monsignor Jonas, William said: &#8220;what was in my heart was that word that the Lord sent me of Lazarus: that this disease was not for death but to the glory of God. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">And that&#8217;s what happened, father. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">For the glory of God many people drew near to\u00a0God, the community began to pray more, my family, a lot of people have become, many testimonies came from people who changed their life from our testimony, from what happened to us. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">(\u2026)<\/span><br \/>\n<span lang=\"en\">God wanted and God wants Father William. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">I want to thank the people of God, my community, my family, but the Lord, especially because it was the faith of the Lord that spread to\u00a0these people. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">That day, you saw what no one has seen. &#8220;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">Referring to the passage of Lazarus, Monsignor Jonas said: &#8220;&#8216; this disease does not cause death but aims to the glory of God &#8216;. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">For it\u00a0to glorify the Son of God. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">Thank God, I had the grace to support me in this word and say to Willian and for others who are with him this disease will not cause death and but the\u00a0aims to the glory of God. For it will be for the\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en\">Glory to God! T<\/span><span lang=\"en\">o glorify the glory of God. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">Glory to God! &#8220;<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>I want to thank God for being alive<\/h3>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">The President of the Eucharist called forth Felipe Pav\u00e3o, who still has an arm without movement or sensitivity, and urged: &#8220;do not be discouraged for a moment! <\/span><span lang=\"en\">(\u2026) <\/span><span lang=\"en\">We keep the faith for our salvation. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">And what do we do also in all situations is keep the faith! &#8220;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">In turn, Felipe said: &#8220;As we are in a mass of Thanksgiving I wanted to thank God for being alive. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">(\u2026) <\/span><span lang=\"en\">Praise God for this miracle to be alive today, and thank all the people of God who prayed for me incessantly, the people at home, people from all over the Brazil that prayed for me. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">Above all, I want to thank my community all the time you&#8217;ve been with your knees on the floor praying for us, and my community that made me feel loved, my community that gave me strength.
