The chef prepared meat for all but the first person put half of it on his/her plate. Pity the others who come after him/her.

Gluttony makes the person focus only on oneself, others come. It’s not just in house! For example: in a restaurant, the person sees everything tidy, “cute”, he fills his plate and messes everything up, because he is just thinking of his plate. There is insensitivity in the thinking of the other.

The same thing with drunkenness. I don’t have to tell you of the foolishness that people are suffering by addiction to drink, what it actually does in our lives. Drinking cause insensitivity, because the person loses the sense of what is right, loses the sense of respect, loses his/her family. We already know all that alcohol causes among us.

People who have more concerns in life are neurotic with their concerns. And is actually a neurotic worrying about everything. There are those who have concerns with the cleaning, concerns with children.

Watch out! These three elements-gluttony, drunkenness and excessive concerns – they take from us the sensitivity to life, take from us the true understanding and righteousness of how it should be, so we don’t lose sensitivity, the most important, and for life itself, the day comes to an end. So, for many, death ends up in sadness, a disaster, because they lost the sensitivity of life.

God bless you!

Fr.
