{"id":18262,"date":"2017-01-23T01:01:13","date_gmt":"2017-01-23T06:01:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.cancaonova.com\/catholicismanew\/?p=18262"},"modified":"2016-12-26T10:19:34","modified_gmt":"2016-12-26T15:19:34","slug":"if-we-do-not-bear-witness-to-christ-we-deny-him","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.cancaonova.com\/catholicismanew\/2017\/01\/23\/if-we-do-not-bear-witness-to-christ-we-deny-him\/","title":{"rendered":"If We Do Not Bear Witness to Christ, We Deny Him"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>If we do not witness Christ, how will they know that we are Christians?<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_30629\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30629 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/img.cancaonova.com\/cnimages\/especiais\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/12\/Nao-testemunhar-Cristo-e-nega-lo-1-600x450.jpg\" alt=\"Nao testemunhar Cristo e nega-lo\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\" lang=\"en\">Credits: Daniel Mafra\/New Song<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span lang=\"en\"><em>&#8220;Everyone who witnesses for me before men, I also plead for him before my father<\/em> <\/span><span lang=\"en\"><em>that is in Heaven; but everyone who\u00a0denies me before men, I also deny before my father &#8220;<\/em> <\/span><span lang=\"en\">(Mt 10.32 -33).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">These words are very serious and blunt. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">On the one hand, they bring us a great comfort, because the simple fact is that we give witness to Jesus in this life, on this earth, before men, already gives us the right to have him as a witness before God Father. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">However, on the other hand,it will be terrible not to confess him as Lord.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">You could say: &#8220;I didn&#8217;t deny Jesus, and I&#8217;m sure I&#8217;m not going to deny Him.&#8221; <\/span><span lang=\"en\">Deny, here, is in opposition to be a witness. <\/span><span lang=\"en\"><strong>So whoever didn&#8217;t witness for Him turns out to deny Him<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">If you are called to a court, if you know that somebody is innocent and have proof of that, if only you can declare the word that will save him. If o<\/span><span lang=\"en\">nly you can make sure he won&#8217;t be convicted and\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en\">you don&#8217;t do that, you&#8217;re condemning that person. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">The same happens with the Lord. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">He needs and wants your testimony. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">It&#8217;s the only witness, to talk about \u00a0him and what he did in your life. So that we can witness to\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en\">whom can be saved and freed from condemnation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">You might ask: &#8220;what am I going to say? <\/span><span lang=\"en\">What I&#8217;m going to testify? <\/span><span lang=\"en\">I&#8217;m not a preacher nor do I have the gift of the gab\u00a0&#8220;. <\/span><span lang=\"en\"><strong>Will you do what a witness does: are you going to tell what you\u00a0saw and heard<\/strong>. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">More: will you narrate what and how it happened with you. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">That&#8217;s just it! <\/span><span lang=\"en\">You don&#8217;t have to be a preacher, nor have the gift of the gab. Simply tell w<\/span><span lang=\"en\">hat the Lord Jesus has done in your \u00a0life, giving testimony of him.
