{"id":18596,"date":"2017-06-21T01:01:31","date_gmt":"2017-06-21T06:01:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.cancaonova.com\/catholicismanew\/?p=18596"},"modified":"2017-05-18T06:15:45","modified_gmt":"2017-05-18T11:15:45","slug":"cast-your-cares-upon-the-lord","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.cancaonova.com\/catholicismanew\/2017\/06\/21\/cast-your-cares-upon-the-lord\/","title":{"rendered":"Cast Your Cares Upon the Lord"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-32254\" src=\"http:\/\/img.cancaonova.com\/cnimages\/especiais\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2008\/05\/humilde600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\" lang=\"en\">Photo: Yamin\/primaveraby<\/p>\n<h2 align=\"right\"><b>The meek of spirit are confident, deliver their own concerns to God<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span lang=\"en\"><em>&#8220;Happy the meek of spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven&#8221; (Psalm 48).<\/em> <\/span><span lang=\"en\">My brothers, this is the first beatitude. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">The poor in spirit are the opposite of the proud and arrogant, because they are humble and penetrate the reality of the Kingdom of God.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">We perceive, brethren, how much we need change, transformation. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">John himself, who was the beloved disciple, was at heart a &#8220;wealth&#8221; of spirit, arriving to make a little group with the other Apostles, as if they were &#8220;the beloved&#8221; of Jesus. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">But he was changing, about to become the disciple of love. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">John became love in his own words, in his gestures, in what was and did. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">If John did\u00a0all this change, imagine how much we also need! <\/span><span lang=\"en\">As our heart needs to be changed, possessed by the first beatitude!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">When Jesus speaks in Kingdom of heaven, He does not refer to the realm after death, but right now. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">If we have a humble heart, we need to live in the Kingdom of God by the way, we need to say: <strong>&#8220;Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make our heart similar to yours&#8221;.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">The Lord has patience with us, because he knows we do not change in an hour. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">The good is in us, but it needs to be diced and taken in &#8220;pieces&#8221;, it&#8217;s going to hurt. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">To change, the Lord allows humiliating situations to happen for us. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">At the bottom, we need our own effort and also that Christs let us be humiliated, so that we have a new heart, humble as he is.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">The word of God is telling us that we are dependent on him for all, \u00a0even for a living; <\/span><span lang=\"en\">and our dependence is total. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">Therefore, if we are dependent on the Lord, we must put our trust in him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">St. Peter says: <i>&#8220;Cast on him all your concerns, because he cares for you&#8221; (1Pt 5.7).<\/i> <\/span><span lang=\"en\"><b>The meek of spirit are confident,\u00a0they cast their problems to God and can have peace<\/b>. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">This is only possible, because they trust in the Lord.<\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\">Your brother,<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monsignor Jonas Abib<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Founder of the community\u00a0Can\u00e7\u00e3o Nova<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/padrejonas.cancaonova.com\/informativos\/artigos\/lancemos-sobre-o-senhor-toda-a-nossa-preocupacao\/\">Portuguese Version<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Photo: Yamin\/primaveraby The meek of spirit are confident, deliver their own concerns to God &#8220;Happy the meek of spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven&#8221; (Psalm 48).
