Forgiveness Prayer<\/span><\/h2>\n

Let us pray…The following prayer covers most significant areas
\nof forgiveness. Often, such a prayer will bring to
\nmind other areas that need forgiveness. Let the Holy
\nSpirit move freely and guide your mind to persons or
\ngroups that you need to forgive.<\/p>\n

Lord Jesus Christ,
\nI ask today to forgive EVERYONE in my life.
\nI know that You will give me the strength to
\nforgive and I thank You that You love me more
\nthan I love myself and want my happiness more than
\nI desire it for myself. Father, I forgive YOU for
\nthe times death has come into the family, hard times,
\nfinancial difficulties, or what I thought were punishments
\nsent by You and people said, “It\u2019s God\u2019s will,” and I
\nbecome bitter and resentful toward You.<\/p>\n

Purify my heart and mind today.
\nLord, I forgive MYSELF for my sins, faults and failings,
\nfor all that is bad in myself or that I think is bad,
\nI forgive myself; and I accept Your forgiveness. I further
\nforgive MYSELF for taking Your name in vain, not worshipping
\nYou by attending church, for hurting my parents, getting drunk,
\nfor sins against purity, bad books, bad movies, fornication,
\nadultery, homosexuality. Also, for abortion, stealing, lying,
\ndefrauding, hurting peoples\u2019 reputation.
\nYou have forgiven me today, and I forgive myself.<\/p>\n

Thank You, Lord,
\nfor your grace at this moment. I also forgive MYSELF
\nfor any delvings in superstition, using ouija boards,
\nhoroscopes, going to s\u00e9ances, using fortune telling or
\nwearing lucky charms. I reject all that superstition and
\nchoose You alone as my Lord and Savior. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n

Lord, I truly forgive my MOTHER.
\nI forgive her for all the times she hurt me, she resented
\nme, she was angry with me and for all the times she punished
\nme. I forgive her for the times she preferred my brothers and
\nsisters to me. I forgive her for the times she told me I was
\ndumb, ugly, stupid, the worst of the children or that I cost
\nthe family a lot of money. For the times she told me I was
\nunwanted, an accident, a mistake or not what she expected, I forgive her.<\/p>\n

Lord, I truly forgive my FATHER.
\nI forgive him for any non-support, any lack of love, affection
\nor attention. I forgive him for any lack of time, for not giving
\nme his companionship, for his drinking, arguing and fighting with
\nmy mother or the other children. For his severe punishments, for
\ndesertion, for being away from home, for divorcing my mother or for
\nany running around, I do forgive him.<\/p>\n

Lord, I extend forgiveness
\nto my SISTERS AND BROTHERS. I forgive those who rejected me,
\nlied about me, hated me, resented me, competed for my parents\u2019
\nlove, those who hurt me, who physically harmed me. For those
\nwho were too severe on me, punished me or made my life unpleasant
\nin any way, I do forgive them.<\/p>\n

Lord, I forgive my SPOUSE
\nfor lack of love, affection, consideration, support, attention,
\ncommunication; for faults, failings, weaknesses and those other
\nacts or words that hurt or disturb me.<\/p>\n

Jesus, I forgive my CHILDREN
\nfor their lack of respect, obedience, love, attention, support,
\nwarmth, understanding; for their bad habits, falling away from the
\nchurch, any bad actions which disturb me.<\/p>\n

Lord God, I forgive my IN-LAWS,
\nMY MOTHER-IN-LAW, FATHER-IN-LAW, SON\/DAUGHTER-IN-LAW AND
\nOTHER RELATIVES by marriage, who treat my family with a lack
\nof love. For all their words, thoughts, actions or omissions
\nwhich injure and cause pain, I forgive them.<\/p>\n

Please help to forgive my RELATIVES,
\nmy grandmother and grandfather, aunts, uncles, cousins, who
\nmay have interfered in our family, been possessive of my parents,
\nwho may have caused confusion or turned one parent against the other.<\/p>\n

Jesus, help me to forgive my CO-WORKERS
\nwho are disagreeable or make life miserable for me. For
\nthose who push their work off on me, gossip about me, won\u2019t
\ncooperate with me, try to take my job, I do forgive them.<\/p>\n

My NEIGHBORS
\nneed to be forgiven, Lord. For all their noise, letting
\ntheir property run down, not tying up their dogs who run
\nthrough my yard, not taking in their trash barrels, being
\nprejudiced and running down the neighborhood, I do forgive them.<\/p>\n

I do forgive my CLERGYMAN,
\nmy CONGREGATION and my CHURCH for their lack of support,
\naffirmation, bad sermons, pettiness, lack of friendliness, not
\nproviding me or my family with the inspiration we needed, for
\nany hurts they have inflicted on me or my family, even in
\nthe distant past, I forgive them today.<\/p>\n

Lord, I forgive all
\nthose who are of different PERSUASIONS, those of opposite
\npolitical views who have attacked me, ridiculed me, discriminated
\nagainst me, made fun of me, economically hurt me.<\/p>\n

I forgive those
\nof different religious DENOMINATIONS AND BELIEFS
\nwho have harassed me, attacked me, argued with me,
\nforced their view on me or my family.<\/p>\n

Those who have harmed me
\nETHNICALLY, have discriminated against me, mocked me,
\nmade jokes about my race or nationality, hurt my family
\nphysically, emotionally or economically, I do forgive them today.<\/p>\n

Lord, I forgive
\nall PROFESSIONAL PEOPLE who have hurt me in any way:
\ndoctors, nurses, lawyers, judges, politicians and civil servants.<\/p>\n

I forgive all service people:
\npolicemen, firemen, bus drivers, hospital workers and
\nespecially repairmen who have taken advantage of me in their work.<\/p>\n

Lord, I forgive my EMPLOYER
\nfor not paying me enough money, for not appreciating my work,
\nfor being unkind and unreasonable with me, for being angry or
\nunfriendly, for not promoting me, and for not complimenting me on my work.<\/p>\n

Lord, I forgive my SCHOOLTEACHERS
\nAND INSTRUCTORS of the past as well as the present. For those
\nwho punished me, humiliated me, insulted me, treated me unjustly,
\nmade fun of me, called me dumb or stupid, made me stay after
\nschool, I truly forgive them today.<\/p>\n

Lord, I forgive my FRIENDS
\nwho have let me down, lost contact with me, do not support me,
\nwere not available when I needed help, borrowed money and did not
\nreturn it, gossiped about me.<\/p>\n

Lord Jesus,
\nI especially pray for the grace of forgiveness for the ONE
\nPERSON in life who has HURT ME THE MOST.<\/p>\n

I ask to forgive
\nanyone who I consider my greatest enemy, the one who is the
\nhardest to forgive or the one who I said I will never forgive.<\/p>\n

Lord,
\nI beg pardon of all these people for the hurt I have inflicted
\non them, especially my mother and father, and my marriage partner.<\/p>\n

I am especially sorry
\nfor the three greatest hurts I have inflicted on each of these.<\/p>\n

Thank You, Jesus,
\nthat I am being freed of the evil of unforgiveness.
\nLet Your Holy Spirit fill me with light and
\nlet every dark area of my mind be enlightened.
\nAMEN.<\/p>\n

Forgiveness is an act of the will, not a feeling.
\nIf we pray for a person, we can be assured that we have
\nforgiven that person. To help accept an individual and
\nopen ourselves to a particular person more, picture
\nhim with the Lord Jesus and say to the Lord,
\n“I love him because You love him. I forgive him because You forgive him.”<\/p>\n

Forgiveness is a life-long obligation.
\nDaily we need to forgive those who hurt or injure us.<\/p>\n
