Pope's Plane on Final Descent

Andrews AFB–Before a waiting crowd, including color guard from each of the military services, Pope Benedict XVI’s plane is making its final descent to Andrews AFB. Among those waiting are President and Mrs. Bush who will meet the Pontiff bestowing on him the honor of the only head of state to be greeted at Andrews and not at the White House.

There is great excitement among those as the Alitalia plane touches down. The color guard stands still as the airman prepare the plane for its stop and the Pope will deplane.
