Pope Benedict today called on Catholic educators to recognize the importance of their mission. He added that this mission is part of the church’s own mission. However, it is essential that educators root their work in their belief and act on their belief when educating. It is an act of charity to then so lead and educate the young. However, education without faith does not lead to freedom, but rather only knowledge. Education with faith leads to true freedom.
