Lasting Image

If there is a lasting image that remains from the Pope’s visit to the US, it is that of him praying at Ground Zero. I cannot begin to describe just how much that shows exactly who Christ is by the Pope praying. Imagine that an allegedly religious figure caused Ground Zero, but a true leader of Catholicism in kneeling in silence spoke more than that wayward leader could ever say about God with all his acts of violence. The Pope showed simply that Christ is a passionate and loving God not a God of destruction. He did this simply by modeling Christ and then calling us to do the same.

He brought New York to silence, with his prayer and his compassion at Ground Zero.
