The Time is Right in the Church for a New Pentecost

Many know the great pain that the Church is suffering caused by some of her priests who are also her children. This situation not only affects the clergy, but rather it also affects all the body of Christ from the Holy Father to the most recently baptized.

The Church faced with accusations has responded with the truth, leaving the corresponding cases in the hands of the justice, recognizing the weakness of her children but also loving them, just as Jesus detests the sin but loves the sinner.

However, one can speak of a persecution of the Church, that is not something new in us. All life of the Church has been marked by persecutions. Look at the following: in each persecution of the Church, God has given His Holy Spirit with great power. Here are some examples.

The Death of Jesus: The people brought Christ to the cross. When they nailed Jesus to the cross, and a soldier stabbed him with his lance, from Jesus’ right side spilled blood and water. Jesus poured out himself for all humanity, cleaning it from its sins. so according to John, the Church was born redeemed by Jesus. (Jn 19:34)

Persecution of the first Christians: The Apostles called to the Lord in the middle of the Persecution, and the Holy Spirit poured out much strength and they announced with much courage, the word of God (acts 4:23-31)

Persecution of the Doctrine: The Church was persecuted in its doctrine for more than a 1000 years, between the fifth and 16h centuries approximately. For this persecution, the Lord poured his Spirit, where the great doctors of the Church rose along with great councils and Church reforms.

Persecution en morality: It is that which we are living as Church today, facing the morality, where one questions such things as priestly celibacy, the authority of the Church, etc…

These are only some examples, the concrete is that in each period of persecution, God pours out in abundance his Holy Spirit… we could be able to say that never will they destroy our Church for they will be fighting with God Himself and each wound that cause our Church to pour out blood, water, is an effusion of the Holy Spirit.

And the most beautiful of all this is that if you are participant of this reality, you are an instrument of the Spirit of God.

God Bless You,
Come Holy Spirit!
