Testimony

Life presents us many ways of witnessing our faith.

There are those who believe that witnessing may be a form of advertising and there are those who also believe that witnessing is capable of bringing many people to a religious road, or maybe a conversion.

The fact is that being a witness based simply on advertising or lies is predestined to disaster, for a bad story cannot bring good fruits. But a testimony rooted in truth, in courage and in the annointing, makes really hardened hearts shake.

From where comes this strength?

-From that one that sustains us and nudges us when we are resisting.

In truth, many persons have beautiful and edifying stories for telling their experiences and their acts, but that history is really perpetual, the principle actor is God! And thus, each episode His costars can say, “I overcame and I conquered, thanks be to God!”

When the vanity and the pride insist on attributing the laurels of victory to human capacity, our story becomes predictable and limited due to personal effort.

Among my favorite books, one encounters the biographies of some Catholic icons that I read such as Saint Teresa of Avila, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Augustine, St. Rita of Cassia, Padre Pio, Saint Teresa of the Child Jesus, John Paul II and others. They are books that across the centuries under the gaze of each writer that begins to study them and permits the clearingthe mystery that will transform these devoted of Christ. Do not let me forget the great testimony of all time that was the life, death and resurrection of Christ. We may be or not be Christians, Jesus allows us the greater and better legacy. And all people that in him believe and testify, become new creatures “vested in royalty.” “See that I make all things new.” (Rev. 21:6)

So that I may speak only the tongues of men, I am not permitted to hide the miracles that God does in my life.

It is the simplicity of our words, in the good example, and better still, in the consciousness of our insignificant action, before the action of God that we should testify with much strength all the graces received.

Theresa Calonge

Everyone who acknowledges me before others I will acknowledge before my heavenly Father. But whoever denies me before others, I will deny before my heavenly Father. (Matthew 10:32-33)
