A Secret to Live Well: Reconciliation!

In the modern world, people are driven to be machines that only work and worry about the future. Therefore, they do not have time to think of themselves in their choices and in their conduct so that they can live well with the others. Consequently, they live worried, depressed, unhappy, sick and torn. Jesus says to the Father “The world hates them, because they are not of the world, as also I am not of the world. I do not ask that you take from the world, but that you protect them from evil.” (John 17:14-15) he gave us an orientation to live well our life.

Those that live from the mentality of the world are more exposed to evil. Also they live divided, in their selves and with others. Selfishness, greed, individualism, pride, vanity and lack of love reign in life.

Jesus continues teach on living well: give them the glory that you gave me, in order that they may be one, as we are one: I am in You and You in Me in order that they may be perfect in unity, and the world recognized that You sent Me and You love them as You love Me.” (John 17:22-23)

God drives us to be perfect in unity, with Him, with ourselves, with our neighbor and with the world. How to live this truth? I want to reflect with you on two secrets for being perfect in unity: Reconciliation.

In the first place, whomever is in harmony with himself is capable of reconciling himself with the person that are at his side. The one who is torn interiorly, also will be torn with the persons that surround him. To us Christians, many times we would like to pardon others, but we don’t. Generally, this occurs because we ignore our own feelings of anger, resentment and annoyance that we feel in relation to the person that hurts us. These feelings, ignored, root themseles inside us and impede us from living reconciliation. Overall reconciliation signifies clarifying feelings, expressing them without offending and assaulting others, without wanting to know who has motives, and also without justifying oneself. In Whatever community, when the conflicts and the differences are put under the carpet divisions appear and with them difficulties for living united in the same proposition. Then disturbances arise in the community, where people no longer trust each other, and become apathetic about what others are living.

Reconciliation is important in order to restart a marriage, a friendship, a relation among brothers and to live the unity with God, with oneself, with others and among other people.

That God may bless us in order that we may be united among ourselves and with the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen!
