Eucharist: He Who Does Not Eat, Does Not Have Life

I am the break of life that comes from Heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live eternally. And the bread that I will give, is my flesh for the salvation of the Word. (St. John 6:51)

Our tabernacles maintain among us the reality of the Incarnation:” The word made flesh and dwells among us…” And still dwells, He is truly present among us, not only of a spiritual manner, but with his own Body”

The term Eucharist (in english, means Thanksgiving) indicates a meal of the disciples of Jesus of Nazareth, this is the community reunited for the breaking of bread (Cf Acts 2:42) remembering the  death and resurrection of the Lord (cf. Luke 22:19) which gives thanks to God the Father for the one and perfect Sacrifice of the Fully Divine/Fully Human.

The Eucharist is our greatest help to remain in the grace of God. St. Denis speaks to us that The sacrament of the Eucharist has the power of sanctifying persons more than all the other spiritual means” Pope Innocent III came to say that “Jesus, with his Passion, frees us from the power from sin, but with the Eucharist He frees us from the power of sin” and completing the Council of Trent affirms that communion is remedy for which we are free from the daily faults and preserved from mortal sin”.

As it is great the value of the Eucharist before the difficulties of our life. Much better is the testimony of Saint Faustina Kowalska: I see myself so weak that if it were not for the holy communion, I would be continually falling. . . In this is my strength. I am afraid of life in those days in which I did not receive communion. From the tabernacle comes strength, vigor, courage, light; there I find relief in the moments of affliction. I would not know to give glory to God if I did not have the Eucharist in my heart.

The Eucharist is also the base of the Christian community; it is the root and the axis of all community, center of sacramental life, to which the word leads. Therefore, one can affirm that where the Eucharist is there is the Church” (Puebla 662)

Ultimately, that we may be able to discover the grow in love of this marvelous sacrament; It is this God that offers himself as a pure oblation and as a means of salvation for humanity.
