In the United States, Pope Benedict XVI’s book “Jesus of Nazareth: Holy Week: From the Entrance Into Jerusalem To The Resurrection” sold 90 thousand copies in the first week, from 11-18 of March. With this, already it is included on the list of ten best sellers of the month published by the New York Times.

The book is the continuation of “Jesus of Nazareth: from Baptism in the Jordan to the Transfiguration” the first work written by Pope Benedict XVI after his election in April of 2005.

The new book, the second of a trilogy, analyzes and reflects on the last days of the life of Jesus, his arrival in Jerusalem, the purification in the Temple, his eschatalogical discourse, the Last Supper, the prayer and arrest in the Garden of Gethsemani, his judgement, crucifixion, death and Resurrection.

The work was launched in 24 languages and in Brazil was published by Editora Planeta. In Portugal, Editora Principia already is at the third edition, for a total sale of 35 thousand copies.
