In this third day of the mission here in the USA, God resolved again to invert the orders! I was invited to preach to a group of adolescents 14-17 years of age. Until then all was well, however, when we arrives in the place, we were surprised that they were 9, 10,11 and 12 years old.
Soon the preaching that I had planned, could not be applied to the group so diversified of this age, in this hour I remembered from my history of life, how my adolescents and my encounter with God. And I perceived that in this direction God wanted to direct the group. I spoke of how it was my family story that I had not been very cool, but I said that all changed when I decided have a true relationship with God. In the eyes of those youth that were there I saw a lot of struggle, but also alot of suffering. Youth, adolescents and children that are born here in the USA or who came here very young with their parents. Some left father or mother in Brazil and today remain with an absence of heart. The preaching was done and with a certain destiny. But the testimony I would like to stress.
Among the adolescents and youth there was a girl of 9 years old, at the end of the group her mother came looking for her in the hour so late I saw the child crying embracing her mother. I thought to myself, Was it something that I said that was too heave. I spent some time conversing with the mother of the child and she told me” “thank you so much for your words to my daughter, she was deciding to not speak anymore with her father in Brazil for he never showed any love for her, but when I arrived here and she began to cry saying to me that she understood why her father did not show love, for he had not received love. And she decided to give her father a second chance.”
A 9 year old child understood what is love, forgives all, believes all hopes all but overall to love is to choose.
This was the third day very intense and now it is the hour to leave Marietta and Atlanta for Boston and New York. There the mission will be with north americans and hispanics. But before I want to say: love is a firm decision of making a difference!
Do not lose the opportunity to love and to begin again.
