The Priest: Channel of Mercy

This 30th of November I completed 15 years of priesthood and of propagation of Mercy. I came to review in my heart the figure and the person of priest in light of the Diary of St. Faustina.

The first passage that I saw is the second day of the Novena of Mercy where Jesus says that the priests gave to Him strength to support the bitter Passion. Through them, as through channels, runs His Mercy to humanity (Diary 1212)

The priest is to Jesus the great promoter of Mercy: “I desire that the priests announce this my great mercy for the souls of sinners.” (Diary 50) It is the visible help for men here on the Earth. “This is your visible help on the Earth. He will help you to complete my will on earth.” (Diary 53)

Jesus merciful hides himself in the person of the priest: “I hide myself behind the priest.” And counseling: “Never investigate how is the priest behind whom I hid myself, and open yourself in confession, as before me, and fill your soul with My light. (Diary 1725) “I only hide myself  in the priest, but I alone act in the soul.”

I conclude with these words of the Merciful Jesus: “Say to my priests that the hardened sinners will repent before their words, when they speak of my  unfathomable mercy, of the compassion that I have with them in my heart. The priests that proclaim and glorify My Mercy will give an extraordinary power, annointing his words, I will touch the hearts of those to whom they will speak.” (Diary 1521)

I ask prayer that I may be able to be faithful to the mission that God entrusted to me.
