Father Fabrício de Andrade stresses that to resume the spiritual road it is necessary to humbly recognize the mistakes. The end of the year is the beginning of a new one it is a stimulus to those who want to start anew in various aspects of life.

To speak on the spiritual life noticias.cancaonova.com interviewed Fr. Padre Fabrício de Andrade, of the Canção Nova Community.

noticias.cancaonova.com – How can someone intelligenly and conscientiously evaluate their spiritual life?

Fr. Fabrício – The center of the spiritual life is Christ Himself. A good evaluation of one’s spiritual walk should pass through finding a major conformation of one’s life to the life of Christ. Perceiving progress is very important and being conscious of where one should advance will help to track the goals through the time of recovery.

noticias.cancaonova.com – What are the first steps for whomever wants to rebegin in this aspect?

Fr. Fabrício – In the first place to be aware of the road that was already made, not despising errors, but learning from them. Rebeginning demands discipline and strength of will and of course much prayer. Rebeginning a spiritual road is to return to the fight with the will to get it right this time, repairing all that which did not work the first time. Rebeginning is an attitude for the humble, the proud never rebegin, they prefer to give up.

noticias.cancaonova.com – How does one not become discourage from the difficulties throughout the year?

Fr. Fabrício – Discouragement takes place in the heart of whomever sees himself fighting alone. Doing the actual experience of being faced with problems and fighting alongside of God will always refresh one’s strength to continue. Whomever is discouraged on the road is depriving himself of celebrating the feast of arriving. The important thing is always to walk in the direction of the goal and never go alone, having God as companion, and one can and should have brothers and sisters with whom one can and should rely upon.
