My Encounter with Jesus Christ

How can a person use marijuana and cocaine during a good time of their life and today this same person nourishes himself from the Eucharist? This transformation, this conversion happened to me. It is part of my life history!

I was a proprietor of a bar, where the strength was in the barbeque and the cold beer.

One day I stopped in front of the bar, and I looked to to the sky and said: “I need to give my life a new path, I need a woman to marry. And this woman has to be of the church!”

If  I continued to look in the places that I attend, I will continue on the same path. In that moment I decided that I would go to mass imagining that I would meet there my future fiancé. This was my chat with God.

I then went to mass, Sunday with a head filled with beer. I remained there looking at the women. Then I saw a young women who went to the microphone to give the announcements, one of which was an invitation to participate in an “experience of prayer” on the weekend. Immediately I thought: “I will go! I will have three days to be near the woman that I was already flirting with.” Arriving at the place where the retreat was, the woman was not there. “But there what happened was my personal encounter with Jesus Christ”, this was May 1994. In truth, I found that God thought of me before I thought of Him. Cleto needed to have his first encounter with God after encountering a woman. And from then my life began to change. It is now 17 years of making my head and my heart united with the Eucharist.

The future begins today. Can you imagine the next decade, the next generation feeding itself from the Eucharist and sowing good? This is possible, beginning with you.
