If Not for the Light, Darkness Would Not Desire to Be

Where darkness reigns, even a  spark of light is capable of transforming reality.

Reading and meditating on The Discourse of Pope Benedict XVI to the Diplomatic Corps accredited to the Holy See, on January 9th, this phrase my mind.

If not for the Light and sign of hope for the world, darkness would not want to be.

How many persons with extraordinary gifts and organizations that have great influence in the media and in society have unfortunately-sowed the tracks of darkness with what is  communicated and transmitted. . .

It is enough that we look at the actual scenarios with the levels of programming that the great secular TV’s have exhibited through reality shows and the lowering of music that has impregnated and is echoing in the mouth of youth as also the issues that have arrived on the top trends of twitter.

In the discourse Benedict XVI says: Truly the world is gloomy wherever it is not brightened by God’s light! Truly the world is dark wherever men and women no longer acknowledge their bond with the Creator and thereby endanger their relation to other creatures and to creation itself.

Therefore, before this arsenal of futility that the media offers, those that are Sons of Light, cannot and should not be discouraged. But as Benedict XVI says, we need to redesign our road with new forms of commitment…Here I define some: Ethics, Justice, the dignity of the man and of the woman, the respect for the family, and the propagation of Truth.

Strong in the hope of better days in this world, we walk the road to eternity sowing the light where we walk.

Ending with the phrase of Bishop Alberto Taveira: “Your manner of conquering evil is making the good grow.”

Together for a new world
