Lately, my life has been so hectic, that the risk of being taken up by events, anxiety, “priorities” is great, and what is most important is that be with God. In my personal prayer, what God has asked me is to cultivate a special place where He and I can encounter each other always, in whatever situation. It is initiated by God Himself that this place may be inside of me. It is enough to close my eyes and converse with Him, as Moses in the Meeting Tent.

Reading Exodus 33 called my attention to the fact that Moses went to the Tent to encounter the Lord. Whenever he did this, the people began to pray, each one in front of the tent and inside of the Meeting Tent, the little Joshua who did not leave there, listened to the dialog between Moses and God. It was there that I asked myself. Whom am I in this story? That one that remained at the door of his house and was content to see  from a distance this Encounter? Joshua who never fled from the presence of God and therefore was educated day by day in this intimate encounter, in this friendship? Or Moses who spoke face to face with God as one speaks with his friend.

If your tribulations grow, it is time to cultivate an interior life, cultivate this intimate friendship with God. I need to seek Him with more intensely and cultivate this secret garden of encounter with God inside of me.
