The Canção Nova Community receives the notice of the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI with serenity and a spirit of Faith, certain that nothing escapes Divine Providence, of which “nothing can separate us from the love of Christ.”

At the same time, we are thankful to God for the gift of eight years of the Pontificate of Benedict XVI, already we put ourselves in prayer for our Church, in order that the Holy Spirit may assist in this important moment. Intercession through grace, for we are together in a traditional retreat, in the days of Carnaval, already underway. Our attitude is of continued prayer for Pope Benedict XVI and for the Church.
