Can We Do Ecumenical and Interreligious Dialog?

We can make part of this dialog in which the foundation always will be Love. But it is necessary to have a base and knowledge of your own religion and of other religions. For to make ecumenism and religious dialog it is necessary to understand and know the religious fundamentals of our own faith and afterwards of the diverse religious manifestations in order that there may be a fertile dialog.

I think that to make religious or ecumenical dialog does not mean that we should relatize our Doctrine and our truth of the faith in order to please other religious in order to thwart obstacles that trap such a relationship. Dialog means to seek common and universal values as the universal human desire for justice, peace and love. Strive to seek from this communion of life the seeds of the Word that are evidenced in different religions.

I reflect that still our encounter should happen with other religions, in the perspective of tolerance and of mutual respect and in the understanding of values and of differences in creeds and of each religion. This dialog will always have as “spinal column” Love.

God is love, we make unity in the world through charity. Let’s be “bridge builders”!
