In Difficult Times, We Look to Christ

Amid difficult situations of life, it is very important that we choose well to whom we listen and to whom we give our heart. Read the Bible text Lk 23:35-43

Jesus already was crucified. Beyond all His sacrifice, still he encountered mockers and insulters.

Many times this repeats itself in our life. In moments most difficult and painful, some people appear to complicate a situation already more difficult. They are person who with or without bad intention say and do things that make the situation heavier with the following expressions: “Wow, you pray so much and still you have these problems?“, “But you have so much faith, you help so many people, you pray for them and now this happens to you, you are still discouraged.”  This is almost saying to you: “Save yourself.”

These hard commentaries end up coming from the people closest to us. At times, people that are passing through the same problem, they are from the same family, even the same community.

In difficult moments, we hope for counsel or an extended hand, but we hear malicious and sharp comments. This hurts a lot, ‘it is a crucifixion of the heart and of trust.’ There are many people like this.

The most important is the answer what Jesus gave confronting this scene of accusations and mockery. He continues His mission and, in the midst of so many bad things He is still capable of promoting Paradise on that day.

Perhaps you never had this happen to you, never throughout your whole life, but, who knows, it may be been you, without realizing it, just made someone’s situation worse with your words and accusations. T/his falls like a bomb in a conjugal relationship, devastates a friendship, leaves great wounds in the center of a community.

Jesus, did not retaliate against these accusations, He did not allow the bad comments to transforms the people into enemies. No He changes the principal focus.

Worse than confronting the difficulty is to allow it to bulldoze through secondary things. The secret of perseverance is to look at Christ, for He, did not have sin, assumed our sins and paid the price of our salvation.

In Christ, we encounter strength to continue to road, still that may be the required price to pass through cross. Jesus never anbandoned us never! He did not point his finger to censure us, but extended His hands to help us.
