Without God, We Lose the Sense of Sin

The Holy Spirit is all we need to do God’s will. When we sing a song that says: “Today the sky opens to pour the graces of the Father” in a special way the Lord gives us the grace to desire Him, to want to do His will. God is great and has great things to give us. Then ask Him to deliver us from all evil forces that want to manifest in our lives.

1 At the turn of the year,* the time when kings go to war, David sent out Joab along with his officers and all Israel, and they laid waste the Ammonites and besieged Rabbah. David himself remained in Jerusalem. 2 One evening David rose from his bed and strolled about on the roof of the king’s house. From the roof he saw a woman bathing; she was very beautiful. 3 David sent people to inquire about the woman and was told, “She is Bathsheba, daughter of Eliam, and wife of Uriah the Hittite, Joab’s armor-bearer.” 4 Then David sent messengers and took her. When she came to him, he took her to bed, at a time when she was just purified after her period; and she returned to her house. 5 But the woman had become pregnant; she sent a message to inform David, “I am pregnant.”

After this event, David ambushed Uriah to kill him; he was Bathsheba’s husband. In this context, there is the beginning of David’s sin, the grave sin of comfort: “But David stayed home.” When we take our eyes off of what must be done, we lose ourselves and focus on other things, losing the sense of our mission. This actually happened in David’s life, it can happen in our lives too.

Once a person asked for my help because he was not finding time to pray. I told you that time is a matter of priority, and our life with God must be a priority. To pray you must have discipline, a propitious time, a corner only ours. When a person has difficulty praying at night, he or she needs to find another time. You can not pray the rosary and watch television at the same time.

On the day when I return tired for a meeting, I go to my little corner of prayer and say to the Lord: “I know you’re here waiting for me. Let’s talk “. What is I cannot do is accommodate myself. If I am not realizing that we are in a spiritual battle, as what happened with David, I’ll be home in sameness and self-indulgence which will take from me a sense of what is sin.

In the story of the prodigal son, he realized his sin and returned to his father. But first, he needed to get to a situation of not having food or pigs to eat because he had lost the sense of sin. In today’s world, we are also well, but need to feel bothered by the Holy Spirit.

“God is great and has great things to give us,” emphasized Edson.

One of the meanings of the word “annoy” is “disturbing”. The Virgin Mary was troubled and hurried to meet Isabel. We are in the Church and may be bothered. When we feel uncomfortable from God, even discover that we are wrong; we have the courage to go to people and ask them for forgiveness.

After all the tragedies in the house of David, he was visited by the prophet Nathan. This played, in the face of David, all your sins, in order that he takes knowledge from their mistakes. Then David asked God to forgive their iniquity, ie, not just to know what the will of the Lord is, but to fulfill it.

“O God, create in me a heart that is pure. Renew in me the spirit of firmness of Your face. Do not refuse me nor deprive me the joy of the Spirit. Restore unto me the salvation “(cf. Psalm 50). David came to his senses and realized he had lost what was most precious: the sense of God.

Many bad things have happened because we have lost the sense of sin. What’s up to me and you? Choosing to be of God. This is not fanaticism, but a decision of the heart.

We risk comforting ourselves with what we do, but if the time to go to war comes, we can not stay at home.

Let us ask the Holy Spirit to give us the newness of the Word every day. The devil wants us to fall into the temptation of sameness, we lose the sense of God.

We cannot lose hope; otherwise, stayed soft and things lose their meaning within ourselves. You need to meet with God every day, at all times and moments. Sin can lead us to a path of no return. Without God, we lose the sense of sin.
