Friday Night, July 25th, the founders of Brazilian Catholic Television Broadcasters received honors during the 4th National Meeting of the Pastoral Communication in Aparecida,, Brazil (SP).

Canção Nova (New Song) began television work in 1989, with small programs on other networks. In 1997, after purchasing the TV Jornal in Aracaju (SE), formed the Canção Nova  Television Network. Based on Christian principles and values ​​programming, the TV network broadcaster gained ground in the hearts of viewers and is now the largest Catholic television station in Brazil, and reaches to various parts of the world.(It is available in the United States via internet at http://tv.cancaonova.com )
TV Canção Nova was honored at the “Feast of Communication”

The co-founder of the Canção Nova Community, Luzia Santiago, represented the founder of this network television, Monsignor Jonas Abib. During the event, Luzia thanked those present and the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil (Catholic) for having received this honor. She  emphasized gratitude to evangelizing members who supports not only the TV, but the entire Canção Nova Communication System. (This blog is a part of the Canção Nova Communication System) The  Cofounder said the broadcaster’s commitment is to bring the Good News of Christ with the witness and the joy of the Gospel. “With this award, we say to the CNBB that Canção Nova is at the service of the Church,” said Luzia.

TV Nazareth, located in Brazilian city of Belém, was also honored. This television network, which arises in the market as an alternative approachwith quality of facts, events and situations of human life in society, received congratulations in the person of Archbishop Alberto Taveira Correa, archbishop of the diocese in which the station is located.

Located in Southern Brazil, the Evangelizing TVs and 3rd Millennium, founded by Monsignor Gerard Schneider, were represented by their artistic director, José de Melo. The honoree thanked the Catholic networks for the transmission of this event together.

Father Edward Dougherty, founder of the XXI Century TV, during the tribute stressed that the mission of network television is to serve. For Father Eduardo, peace and true happiness will not reach the world today without the integral formation of the human person and without the transmission of ethical and Christian values.

With a highly educational program, comprising the lives of people in many different spheres of social life, the TV Aparecida was honored in the person of its director, Jehoshaphat Moraes.

The priest, teacher, preacher, writer, composer, broadcaster, Father Zezinho was also honored tonight. He is a born communicator, has become a benchmark for the Brazilian evangelization. During the ceremony, he directed thanks to his family, the congregation, the CNBB and all those who in some way contributed in his life. Father Zezinho also stressed the importance of Church unity. “I’m a product of the Church working together. Every time I tried to work alone, I was wrong, “concluded the priest.

The night was full of tributes enlivened by musical groups“Chamas” and  “Ir ao Povo”, recalling songs that have marked the history of the Church.
