The Importance of Time

The best gift is the present time; then you need to enjoy it as well. But there is a science to enjoying time. It is not run by doing things, but do not waste it with nonsense.

To live well we must know how to use time well; through it we build our lives. Every moment of our existence has consequences in this life and in eternity. Therefore, we can not be “killing time”; it would be like killing our life gradually. In fact, the present time is the only gift that belongs to us; the past is gone, and the future belongs to God.
Live the present intensely. Keep the following in mind: the most important person is the one that is now in front of you; the most important work is what you are doing now; the most important day of this life is what you are living today; the most important time is now. Some ask me how I can do so many things; the answer is simple: do not waste time and there is time for everything that is important to be done. Of course we need to prioritize activities.

Living is like writing a book whose pages are our deeds, words, thoughts and intentions.

Small but lived with love, things take on a high value, while many seemingly brilliant moments are comparable to soap bubbles! Embrace opportunities to grow in studies and a profession with all the strength that you have . The chances that life gives us many are not; and if you do not take advantage of them right, you can cry later.

Never stand around doing nothing; even if you are unemployed or on vacation; because we know that an “empty and idle mind is the devil’s workshop.” Resting does not mean doing nothing; it is changing of activity.Even in the countryside or the beach vacation you can do something that is restful and that is helpful.

If we do the math, we find that mornings are credited to each of us 86,400 seconds; and every night it written off as lost and we are not allowed to accumulate it [balance] for the next day. Each morning the account is reset, and every night the leftovers from the previous day evaporate.

No going back. You need to apply, in living the present day’s deposit. Invest it so as is best in final goods and not fleeting. Do your best every day.

To realize the value of ONE YEAR, ask a student who failed a grade. To realize the value of ONE MONTH, ask a mother who had her baby prematurely. To realize the value of ONE WEEK, ask the editor of a weekly paper. To realize the value of ONE HOUR, ask the lovers who are waiting to meet. To realize the value of ONE MINUTE, ask a person who missed the bus. To realize the value of ONE SECOND, ask a person who just avoided an accident. To realize the value of one millisecond, ask the person who won the gold medal in the Olympics.

Remember, time waits for no one. Yesterday is history. The Tomorrow is a mystery.Today is a gift. So it is called “present”! Do not let time drip through your fingers open your empty hands; hold it anyway for it to turn eternity.

Why wait tomorrow for to live? This is full of the past and full of the future. The effective use of today is the best preparation for tomorrow. The time is sacred, because the event of salvation was inserted in historical time. But we must have a correct notion of time use. Some think that “time is money”, and can not stop. Not so.

Emmir Nogueira has a beautiful reflection based on Jacques Phillippe, author of “Freedom Within”, (Ed. Shalom, 2004), which teaches us that there are two phases: an external, touched by the clock, and another inside, counted by love . Here is a quote from a discussion of this book:

“Exterior time is the time to do the work, study, produce, produce, produce. It is the time of the schedules, the busy schedules, the important and unavoidable commitments. It is the time it stresses that age, wearing that irritates. Time it closes in, which leads me to think more of me than in others, time to receive, accumulate. Time of usury. ”

“The inner time is the time to be working with gratitude, studying with enthusiasm to produce for the good of everyone, even at my detriment” It’s time to forget the clock before the need for another. Time of agendas that always fit one more hour time of important and pressing engagements with the will of God. ”

“Indoor Time is the time of peace upon being given, rejuvenating time because everything waits reworking because it believes, patient time that supports all. It is time that opens me to the other and the good surprises of God, to give time, time to share. Time for gratitude. It’s that time called “historical patience.”Time to know that God has command of everything. Time does not rush to judge and refusing to print sentences. ”

“Inside Time, time is of the one who prays. It’s time to love recorded by the clocks of eternity, no pointers, no digits. Always spare time. It is the time that in which God lives. Time sharing with Him, carrying the secrets of loves.Time to “keep it all in your heart,” that fully submits to the will of God. Time always yes. Time-yes to God and neighbor. The time of eternity lived in the time it is called today. ”

We use the word URGENT too much , it has lost her strength. What is urgent indeed? Our scurrying? No. Urgent is to know to ask: what is the meaning of what I’m doing? The most urgent is to know to thank God for the sunrise that is repeated every day; urgent is the relationship with the children, hug the wife know how to spend time with others … do not forget to live life.

People do not become great by doing great things. Do great things for being great. To be great one must patiently build up every day.
