During this month of October, I share with you, good news, in order that we may be in union and together exalt the name of  the Lord.

Decree

Seeing the request sent on 12 October of 2011 by Monsignor Jonas Abib, Founder and President of the International Association of Faithful, Canção Nova Community in which came the request to the Pontifical Counsel for the Laity the definitive approval of the Statutes of the Association, already approved for a period ad experimentum of five years, with the decree of the Dicastery of 12 October of 2008.

Considering the great commitment of the community for the new evangelization and provided the good fruits of holiness of its members, which desire to be as one new  song for the Lord through santification of work, of continuous prayer, of seeking of strong ways of communion with God and a sacramental life and intense community, allowing it to be guided by the Holy Spirit in communicating the Gospel and waiting the coming of the Lord (cf Statutues, articles 1. 3-7)Further the diffusion of the Canção Nova Community in various countries of the world and of the consolidation of apostolic activities in the fields of education, of health, of the arts, of culture and of social promotion, as contribution for the transformation of man and of society, and determined to put your charism at the service of the edification of the Church (cf Statutes articles 4 and 5)

Vatican Council II pays special attention to the apostolate of the laity of the aggregations of the faithful dedicated to this end (cf Decree on the apostolate of the laity Apostolicam actuositatem, 18, 19, 21) Also the post-conciliar magisterium puts a great trust in relation to these new realities for the renewal of the ecclesial life (cf. St.John Paul II, Apostolic Exhortation, Post Synod Christifideles laici, 29) and for the awakening of the faith in the hearts of so many Christians and that they may rediscover the vocation received with baptism.” (Pope Benedict XVI Homily, St. Peter’s Square, Vigil of Pentecost, June 3, 2006)In the same way, His Holiness Francis stresses the importance of the community of evangelizers that throw themselves without fear to the action of the Holy Spirit to announce the Gospel with fervor, happiness and boldness in every time and place also walking against the current (cf. Apostolic Exhortation, Evangelii gaudium, 259 e 261)

Favorably welcomed the changes put in the Statutes approved on 12 October of 2008;
