To Christ Alone is the Glory

Our joy is when Jesus is recognized, loved, glorified and exalted! All glory to Him and all the recognition that is the only Savior between God and men.

“I baptize with water; but among you is the one that you do not know, and who is coming after me. I do not deserve to untie the strap of his sandals “(John 1: 26-27).

St. John the Baptist in his ministry of proclaiming the Kingdom of God and to prepare the way of the One who comes after him,is  like a voice crying in the wilderness, as someone who is flattening the paths by which the Lord will pass, is being questioned by many: “You are the Christ? Are Elijah the Prophet?” (John 1: 21).

St. John does not take to himself the glory that is not his; in fact, he takes up what is his role in saying that he only baptized with water; and that the baptism was brought to the purification of sins, to prepare the hearts and let them softened to the One who would bring the amazing grace, grace par excellence. And that before the Lord, the One who would come after him, he was not worthy to untie the strap of His sandals (cf. John 1: 24-27).

St. John is not the Lamb of God, he is the arrow that shows us who is the Lamb, who is the One who can save us, cleanse us and redeem us!

You know, my brothers, the Kingdom of God, we can not stop the in the people and people may not want us to stop at them. No, no human being is for us “God himself.” Any servant of the Lord is for us as John the Baptist, is for us the figure, the arrow that shows us who is the way, who is Jesus.

I always worry about the glory that often we want to give to people. Sometimes titles are, cults, sometimes until idolatry given to human beings. As good as they are, however they strive and as much as we who are preachers of the Word of God try to be references to people’s lives, we are not the way, the truth or life. We are only what John the Baptist was: an arrow indicating that Jesus is the way, indicating that life is in Jesus and He alone can save us.

We are not worthy of applause, we are not worthy of human glories nor do we want them or we want to live them. Our recognition is the service, is giving us and deliver us into the kingdom of God. Our joy is when Jesus is recognized, loved, glorified and exalted!

No man, not even the Pope, the bishop, the singer, the preacher, to no human glory. All glory, all recognition that is the only for Savior between God and men. All glory to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, it is to Him we turn, it is to Him we address because only He can save us!

God bless you!
