Break with the Culture of Individualism

“The Lord wants us to leave this individualistic culture aside, because He wants us better and different”

We can see in our society a huge tendency to relativize everything. The situation worsens when we see the things of God and the Church of Christ being lived in any manner whatsoever. Most of us are concerned only with their own lives, with their choices and achievements, but forget that the Lord calls us to be brothers and sisters, missionaries and fishers of men. We are the body of the Church, but what appears is that we do not feel part of it. It is difficult to understand and accept their rites and dogmas, their doctrine. And every day, the more we move away from it. This detachment means moving away also of Jesus, of His teaching and His call to holiness.

The things of  the world are easier to be lived and understood; Furthermore, we are living in a time in which making sacrifices does not make sense, especially if they are in favor of another. Jesus calls us to love our neighbor, but I believe we are in a situation that often can not even love ourselves.

I had the grace to realize that for many years I have been immersed in this relativistic culture, worried about my life, my will and choices. What I could see is that the Lord wants us to stop this individualistic culture aside, because He wants the best, want us to be different. We were created in the image and likeness of God to be, in fact, as well. And God is what? He is love.

We need to stop thinking that being a Catholic Christian is only going to Mass and start taking on the mission of God’s children. The first step towards this is to put the Most High in the foreground, let Him be the Lord of our life. From this attitude, this first step, many things change. Changes are so significant that we now have new habits, new friends, new tastes and perceptions. Perhaps, that alarmed us, awaken in us the fear of misunderstanding, but when we let ourselves be led by the Gospel, by the teachings of Jesus and therefore by God, we become new people. And this new person will go through difficulties, because this new path is different from the path of everyone else

“The world needs better people, able to bring the Good News to all creation without expecting anything in return”
Along the way, we see that the right way is Jesus. He is the way, the truth and the life. Understanding this, we can praise the Lord and thank Him for every moment of our life, whether happy or sad, because we are sure that God wants the best for us. And what we are not able to understand at some point will make perfect sense if we persevere on the right track.

What we need is to open the heart to God’s word, let the Holy Spirit lead us and help us to walk with Christ, so that one day we may be able to “renounce ourselves, pick up the cross and follow Jesus.” The world needs better people, able to bring the Good News to all creation without expecting anything in return. Browse hear the voice of God in this world with so many noises may seem impossible, but with good will, courage and some waivers will be here on earth on the path to eternity, where we live in glory with our Blessed Mother and all the angels.

This God made man is worthy of praise, and everything we do to help our brother or sister to be saints, is small compared our need to thank Him for the love we receive from Him. Always asking the Holy Spirit enables Him to teach us to follow the ways of the Lord and Our Lady to assist us with his providence and teach us to be obedient as she was. Without prayer we are unable to listen to God and do His will. We are in this world, but our place is heaven; then we have to take care of our lives and think about what brings us the Father and that gives us salvation.
