Conquering the Storms of Life

We can walk over our problems without being frightened by storm

In the Gospel of Matthew, there is an interesting fact: after the multiplication of the loaves, Jesus took leave of the apostles and was praying on the mountain. They who were in a boat, realized the agitation of the vessel due to the big storm and were terrified. Suddenly, they saw someone walking on the sea: the Messiah.

No wonder it was Jesus, they became even more frightened and dropped screams of terror: “It’s a ghost!”. But soon the Lord told them: “Trust! It’s me. Do not be afraid “(Mt 14:27).

Often, our life is agitated by the storms and we despair, because we lack confidence. But we need to blindly trust in God, in the certainty that His help will not fail us.

The Lord is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. He is alive. We do not serve a dead God. Cry out and He will come to meet you.

Do not be discouraged at the time of storm. Ask the Lord to take you into his lap, so that the storm did not overcome you. The Lord commands us to be bold and say that we need not be afraid of anything, because He will never leave us alone.

When we become aware of our difficulties and call for the help of heaven, everything changes, the storm calms down and we dare to walk on water. That’s what Peter experienced:

“Lord, if you’re really you, ordering me to go to meet you on the water. Come, He said. And he went out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus “(Mt 14: 28-29).

We can also “walk” on our problems, on the storms that plague our lives, fixing his eyes on God and not diverting to the right or to the left.

When Peter took his eyes off Jesus, he sank. Here’s the secret: we walk on our problems without letting the storm frighten us, if we keep our eyes fixed on the Lord.

Rest assured: when you bring the Lord into the boat of your life, everything changes. The wind ceases, the storm calms down and God is replaced by the command of all things.

“Trust! It’s me. Do not be afraid.” Whatever situation you’re going through, trust, for the Lord is on your side in embarrassing situations of everyday life. There is nothing to fear.

Pray with me:

“Lord, I thank you for so many miracles and healings that have performed in the lives of my brothers. You are truly the God of the impossible. Come in, Lord, in the boat of my life. See, Lord, agitation she is. Until today I was afraid and thought I was alone, but now I do not fear, for the one driving the boat of my life is the Lord.

I present to the Lord every situation I’m in and already I thank you for the new direction that you are giving leading me. I’m not alone. I confess I was already tired, weak, afraid of big waves, but now I have no more fear, because the Lord is with me.

Thank you for the miracle that you are doing in my life. I am a new person.
From this moment, the rudder of my life is in Your hands. I will not make any more decisions alone. I want to praise and thank you for peace and healing that you gave me. Blessed be your name, my Lord and my God. “
