How Can I Acquire Prudence?

revista_eto001In the soul, prudence; in the language, silence; in the face, modesty

“Prudence is the ornament of the soul.” Thus, to be prudent is to have beauty in the soul, it is embellish it and to color. And it is suitable the given example: “You can not serve an unbridled horse,” because if you ride a horse without reins, he will take you whatever he wants. The same happens to us: we can not “use the gifts without prudence”.

Jesus recommended his disciples to follow this rule: “In the soul, prudence; in the language, silence; in the face, modesty and simplicity “. To feel cautious and to begin to look at the brightness of our soul, we must follow these rules left by Jesus for us.

Prudence comes from two main sources: Jesus and wise men. Christ is as the source of light that “best lights anyone who approaches it”; and we only  approach this source through the prayer. Jesus is a source of wisdom. In the gardens of the public square, especially in the interior, there was always a light source under water; and the closer we got it, the more our color changed: green, red or blue, as the reflection of that lighted water touching us. So also is the source of prudence and wisdom that God gives us. Jesus does this in us through the prayers. Whoever lacks wisdom, you should ask God for it.
