God Wants the Salvation of All His Children

The coming of the Lord is certain and this should fill us with hope.

This is what I heard all those years Canção Nova, from the lips of the Monsignor Jonas and now this advent, also our Pope Francisco encourages us: “the coming of the Lord, as at the time of Zephaniah, must fill our hearts with joy and confidence.” Because God’s patience with his people and, as a father, waits the conversion of each child:

Because then I will restore to the people a chosen lip, that all may call upon the name of the Lord, And I will leave in the midst of thee a poor and needy people: and they shall hope in the name of the Lord. (Zeph 3:9,12 D-R)

We still have time, we’re in the time of grace. It is possible to reverse the story itself.
The call of the Holy Spirit for all this time is the conversion, is to review one’s lif, an examination of conscience well done.

I wonder: how’s my life? What’s going on in my heart? I’ve told the truth or a lie? I have fooled people, or my own faith? Where do I put my trust? In what values have I based my life? I have passing goods or eternal ones? Is my life direction one that ends here, or in heaven?

The Lord promised: “and I’ll leave you a handful of humble men and poor. And in the name of the Lord will put his hope the rest of Israel. ” (Zeph 3, 12)

“Hope – says the Pope – is this Christian virtue that we have as a great gift from the Lord and that makes us see further, that is, apart from the problems of Sorrows, the difficulties, beyond our sins”. It causes us to see the “beauty of God”: Let us walk to Christmas the birth of the Lord!
