God gave me the grace to be biological father and gave me the grace to be the spiritual father of the Canção Nova. Being a parent doesn’t have a secret, you need to have courage and will. Courage to correct at times, courage to take care at the time of need. Willingness to spend nights awake. Willing to give up things that you like for your child. These few attitudes already are important. However, if you have love that won’t be a burden.
Being a parent doesn’t have a secret. It requires dedication, staying close and attentive. There’s a saying that says: “what fattens cattle is the eye of the owner.” So it is with parenthood. To be a good father one must be close, and caring. It is demanding, but if you have the love, you will have a great satisfaction.
To educate children in today’s world it is very difficult, but I see that it’s hard because we’re used to looking at ourselves. When we have a son, we should forget ourselves and think about him. He is our life from the moment he is born. And that’s where we see how selfish we are, because it’s hard to get out of ourselves for our son. We must leave behind our convenience and spend time thinking about what’s good for him. But I repeat, if we love, it will not be a burden.
My brothers, making money is not everything. It is preferable to earn little, so one can be with family on weekends. At night, do the tasks with them, view the presentations at school, be present. Prefer your child because a child is forever!
I pray today particularly to you father, for the gift of your fatherhood.
