Grounded in God, we will defeat sin and will achieve salvation

Márcio Mendes reflects on the importance of being United to God, because with Him we shall overcome sin and we will achieve eternal salvation.

The meditated Word is in Saint Luke 4:1-13
And Jesus being full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the desert, For the space of forty days; and was tempted by the devil. And he ate nothing in those days; and when they were ended, he was hungry. And the devil said to him: If you are the Son of God, say to this stone that it be made bread. And Jesus answered him: It is written, that Man lives not by bread alone, but by every word of God. And the devil led him into a high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time;

And he said to him: To you will I give all this power, and the glory of them; for to me they are delivered, and to whom I will, I give them. If you therefore will adore before me, all shall be your. And Jesus answering said to him: It is written:You shalt adore the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve. And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and he said to him: If you are the Son of God, cast yourself fromhere. For it is written, that He has given his angels charge over you, that they keep you.

And that in their hands they shall bear you up, lest perhaps you dash your foot against a stone. And Jesus answering, said to him: It is said: You shalt not tempt the Lord your God. And all the temptation being ended, the devil departed from him for a time. “

Com Deus vencemos o pecado e alcançamos a salvação

Who among us has never felt abandoned? How many are surrounded by people, but living the experience of not being able to count on anyone! The devil does not give us roads, but detours. The true humble person is the person, sure in his heart, that he can always count on God and fight to the finish. Whatever happens don’t lose faith.

The Lord is with us in all the struggles we face. In this life, everything is uncertain and risky. The world offers us risks, but God is always by our side. We have Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

In this life, everything is risky and passing. The demon strives to get us out of the presence of God. And how does he leads us from the Lord? Encouraging us to sin. Every sin we have committed further aggravates the situation of sin in which we are immersed.

The devil convinces us that sin is only dirt; However, he is an evil root that leads us every day away from  God. How many good people do bad things, because they believe they will beneficial to them.

To confuse us, temptation utilizes good arguments and half-truths, which keep us from the path of God. Sin is like a drug, in which we sink more and more into it every day.

Sin wants to take us to an effectively, spiritual death and even a bodily one. Don’t have a “just in case” faith , that is, “just in case” I pray;” just in case” I believe; “just in case” I go to holy mass “… All this for fear of conviction or fear of God.

When the tempter comes to us, it is to dominate and destroy us, he wants to dominate us to make us weak. Our life is a constant struggle. Jesus faced temptation in the desert and we also face it.

The word of God tells us that we need to fight for our release. With the Holy Spirit we will defeat discouragement, unemployment and humiliation. In the desert we are living, we fight for our liberation.
