My Sin Does Not Say Who I Am!

I am more than my SIN …

“This people honors me with their lips only; their heart, however, is far from me. “(Mt 15.8)

12947807164_08849c1d4aLong ago God has been talking to my heart about Judas Iscariot. Because it is difficult to understand what really happened to him, it’s hard to understand what was the moment he decided to no longer follow Jesus.

You know, what I have learned in this time is:

It was not exactly the sin of Judas which led him to commit suicide, and it wasn’t even the sin of him that made the consequences of this error to be irreparable. I have in my heart, that even though Judas delivered Jesus, but had he really repented and turned back, Jesus would have forgiven Him, even though Jesus was crucified. But the problem was that the heart of Judas, over time, moved away from the heart of Jesus. Jesus the more he talked and walked toward the Judas, Judas’s heart was closed to the words of Jesus. And really that’s what impresses me most!

Judas walked with Jesus, side by side. Listened to Jesus every day, lived with Jesus, played music with Jesus, saw the miracles of Jesus. But still his heart was moving more and more away.Even if Judas had committed suicide, although the Word shows us a certain regret having betrayed Jesus, I can’t believe that Judas didn’t love Jesus! Judas loved Jesus. The fact that he despaired when he had the understanding of the mistake, it is a sign that he loved Jesus. But Judas let despair take care his heart, and didn’t believe that God’s mercy could overcome such treason.

Judas didn’t kill himself for lack of love, Judas killed himself because of the desperation of the error that was made.

With that I learned that it’s not only our sin that takes us away from Jesus, but it is the attitude of not having our heart “connected” to the heart of Jesus. For the more “ugly” are our sins; It is our desire to be of God and to return to Him that will determine the course of our life! It’s one thing to sin, it’s another thing to not want to more follow in the footsteps of Jesus ….

My SIN does not say who I am! But it’s my heart that determines who I really am, because only God is able to see our heart as it is!

Let us learn from this that Jesus forgives us, and always forgives us. But most have this consciousness, it is important not to forget that our hearts can step away from the heart of Jesus, and this removal danger we kill God’s life in us! If you take your SIN, your consciousness of its error, but also the consciousness that you belong to God, then you won’t  be afraid; to go back to God … Don’t be afraid to ask for forgiveness and start all over again! Don’t despair, ever! Don’t let your heart be invaded by anguish and fear.

God waits for me and you, with the desire of our heart to start all over again!!! Courage … You can start over again.

God bless you!
