In Brazil, we are inundated with the Olympic medals, with the best athletes in the world, with those who renounce a lifetime for a medal, whether it be gold, silver or bronze. It’s very pretty to look at, it powerful to read the emotion of those who had the opportunity to win, and I congratulate each one, because they have an austere life and deserve the title. But, at the same time, I wonder: How about us Christians, are we fighting to achieve our victory, which is Heaven? Do we seek, through living a good life, for our incorruptible Crown, which is Heaven?
St Paul already teaches us that we must run and strive to reach our goal, which is eternal salvation. So today, I want to invite you to make this personal reflection: how is your life? Ask yourself: “Have I done my best to make my goal?”
I’m reflecting on my conduct, because I want to get into heaven. And you?
