But parents know that it’s not so easy to administer the accumulated energy of children and still be able to take advantage of this period along with them, as many parents do not schedule their vacation to the same vacation time for their children.
It’s crazy to administer this time, because the children are filled with energy, they want mom and dad, but parents remain on pace, working. So, breaking the routine of the House. Kids want attention.
Family budget
My kids are like that. They want to talk eye to eye, they want to walk, and this is a matter with which we have to take special care. Any tour, today, as a cinema is a mall, for example, has spent on the movie, with the popcorn and other “things” they always ask. So, in this month of vacation, we have to be attentive to the family budget; see how it does not create a “shock” and thus prepare themselves for this. They can also opt for a bicycle ride. They love it!
My kids love riding. And as my husband likes it too much, we have the opportunity to do this near where we live. At the very end of the evening or on Saturday morning, they ride. My husband uses the buggy – from a farm near my house – and all the kids in the neighborhood will walk. For them, it’s all good! Get out in the yard, playing soccer …That’s what they want.
Be flexible with the rules
In my house, for example, even during the holidays, we have rules, and my children know that they are very well defined. They are very simple things, such as the question of boundaries. If I say, for example, a half an hour of video games, it is a half-hour of video game it is. Even if it’s vacation time. My kids have time to sleep, but during the holidays, I extend a little more this time. There are, however, other ground rules. If they want to go to a friend’s House, you can go, but how long it will stay there? In the House of which friend are you going? How are his parents? These questions are asked and need to be answered.

Some schools offer activities during the holidays. I find that interesting, since it is only during the day, so that the child does not get bored and create the impression that he’s going to school to study. We did a very interesting option, because we have a neighborhood with several children in the same age group. Then, we choose a person and we reward for that afternoon, she ride with the little ones and make up games for them. So, we’re not going to have a very large expense, because we come together, we make a “box” [come together to share money] and choose someone we trust.
It is a challenge, but I never tell my kids to give me work, because it is very enjoyable to be with them. They make my life so much better, my quality of life is high “to the tenth power” with them. It is also a challenge, because the mother has to balance the care of the House, with the children and with the work. It’s gymnastics in a sense, but it is possible. If you only have half an hour, but entirely with your kids, this time is enough.
