God Wants Us to Be Free

Missa de renovação do compromisso dos membros da Canção Nova 2017The Lord created us to be free men and women

“Never forget that blindly to follow the impulse of our emotions often means we become slaves to our passions” (John Paul II).

The Lord created us to be free men and women. We can no longer let us enslave by anyone or anything. Many people adopt a false concept of freedom and live from it, a life totally demented and pointless. Jesus is a friend. He points to lofty goals; asking us to come out of ourselves in order to go his way, trusting him with all our lives. “Those who lose their life for my sake and the Gospel’s will save it” (mark 8.35).

This proposal may seem difficult and even scary, but what’s best: resigning ourselves to a life without ideals, a world made in our image and likeness? Or to seek generously the truth, goodness, justice, working for a world that reflects the beauty of God, that still face difficulties? The decision falls to us, and every decision carries a consequence. God created us to do great and noble projects.

The more we put at His disposal, the more we will discover the true meaning of our life. Let us pray: Holy Spirit, today I want to live for Jesus. I give you my mind, my emotions, my will, my intellect, my lips, my mouth, my ears, my eyes, everything I have and that I am for the glory of God.

Jesus, I trust in you!
