What is it to be baptized in the Holy Spirit?
Since your baptism, God is in you. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are in you. But it is not enough, for it is necessary that this God who is in you should surface. What’s the use of having a well and not getting water from it?
Likewise, there is no point in God being in you if He does not manifest in your life. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is this: the Spirit, which is already in you, comes to the surface. As Jesus said, “Out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water” (John 7, 38b).
From the baptism in the Holy Spirit, everything begins to change! “You command your spirit, you are created, and you renew the face of the earth” (Ps. 104,30).
This renewal of the face of the earth begins with our renewal, day after day. This renewal is charismatic, for it is made with the most powerful weapons of God: the charisms, the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Just open the book of the Acts of the Apostles and you’ll see how many wonders!
